PINE CREEK CEMETERY RESTORATION PROJECT
You have the opportunity to be a part of the
Pine Creek Cemetery Restoration Project. The Cemetery is now a part of the
Floyd County Historical Preservation Trust, Inc., and will have 501 (c)
(3) tax deductible status. We are seeking donations of any amount, large or
small, from descendants and interested parties to this endeavor.
The Pine Creek Cemetery was established as a Primitive
Baptist Cemetery in 1797 in conjunction with the Primitive Baptist
Church. 9 Revolutionary War Patriots and 5 War of 1812 soldiers as well
as many original Floyd Co., VA settlers are buried in the cemetery giving it
tremendous historical value and worthy of preservation. The DAR has
installed an impressive memorial stone, so we have a great start in
memorializing this cemetery. This project would continue and expand on
their effort.
PROJECT GOALS: (certainly open to suggestions
