Parents: William & Mary (Saunders) Williams. 1814 Birth: 10-15-1814 Rockbridge Co., VA. Notice he was born & had his first child on October 15th. He reportedly always regretted he was never able to attend school. He learned the cooper trade from his father. Hecter & Susan lived for a year with her family & then removed to Botetourt to be near his father until his father d. in late 1849. After which they returned to Floyd Co., rented for a period of time, then bought a one story frame home on North Locust Str. Teachers from the male & female academies reportedly used their yard as a short cut between the schools the Jacksonville Male Academy stood on their street & the Female Academy stood behind their home on fronting on Back Street (currently Oxford Street). After the war, Hector fell on hard times & sold their property & rented there after at one time the Michael Phlegar place near the Lutheran church & another the Pedigo place on Old Field Creek. After Susans death from the effects of diabetes, Hector lived for a while with his dau Jennie (Dudley) Peterman & later his dau Nettie (Mathew) Linkenhoger in Botetourt Co., VA.
