TURNER, William C. Jr., (Bill), 88, of Roanoke, passed away Monday, June 2, 2003, from natural causes.

Surviving are his beloved wife of 66 years, Thelma Old Turner; daughters and sons-in-law, Kathryn Marchi and J. Dennis Marchi of Annapolis, Md., Susan Johnson and Charles E. Johnson of Branford, Conn.; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren.

He retired after 40 years’ service from the American Bakeries Merita Bread Company. Bill was an avid golfer and a founding member of Blue Hills Golf Club, playing at many courses along the East Coast. His most enjoyable hobby was refinishing and making golf clubs. He enjoyed playing his piano and the guitar. Bill was a past president of the Roanoke Grocers Merchants Manufacturers Association and a member of Huntington Court United Methodist Church.
