(no photo) (src: Find A Grave) John was the first burial in this cemetery (Sutphin/Flatrock cemetery), the story handed down through generations is John and Rebecca were living in Surry county, while out walking John told his nephew that is the most beautiful field... when I die I want to be buried there by those 3 trees. 2 weeks later during a snow storm, John passed away...He was laid to rest among those 3 trees. Rebecca later joined him along with the nephew and 2 others. Grave is not marked except by the trees.
