her Lord on Saturday, February 16, 2002 at the age of 105. Formerly of
Roanoke, Va., she was residing at the Richfield Nursing Center in Salem, Va. She was a native of Floyd, Va. born to
Susan and John Moran on Christmas Day 1896. A celebration of her 100th
birthday was held at the Oaks with over 75 family and friends attending. She
was congratulated with a certificate from President Clinton and a birthday
letter from TV personality, Willard Scott. She was preceded in death by her
husband, Andrew Waller Lancaster; a son, Herbert Master Lancaster; one
daughter-in-law, Leonora Lancaster, wife to son, Otis; and one
great-grandson. Surviving is one son, Otis W. Lancaster
of Fredericksburg, Va.; daughter-in-law, Gwynn T. Lancaster of Roanoke, wife
to son, Herbert. She had six grandchildren, Lauonne Napier of Auburn, Wash.,
Steve Lancaster of Spotsylvania, Va., Donna Graves of Mooresville, N.C., Joyce
Thompson of Roanoke, Gary M. Lancaster of Richmond, and Karen Schrader of
Chesapeake, Va. Also surviving are 14 great-grandchildren; three step great
grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren. Other surviving relatives
include one brother, Dexter Moran of Floyd and one sister, Virgie Young of
Williamsburg, Va. as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins. Lillie was
a long time member of Belmont Baptist Church and later Oakland Baptist
Church. Funeral services will be held Monday, February 18, 2002 at 2 p.m. at the Lotz Salem Chapel with interment in Sherwood Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the Lotz Salem Chapel. 2002 Burial: Sherwood Burial Park, Salem City, VA.
