George C. Huff, prominent stock raiser and farmer of near Glade Springs, father of C.P. and H.W. Huff of Pulaski, passed away this morning at 8 o'clock at the Roanoke Hospital following a several weeks illness.  His death was not unexpected and immediate members of his family were at his bedside when the end came.  Funeral services will be held Thursday morning in Roanoke, the exact hour not having been learned at press time today

Funeral services for George Cannaday Huff prominent cattle raiser and business man of near Glade Springs, who passed away in the Roanoke Hospital early yesterday morning after a 3 week illness will be held at the home of his daughter Mrs. C.G. Lindsey, 1504 Roanoke Street SW Roanoke at 11 o'clock tomorrow morning.
Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery.  The services will be conducted by the Rev. D.B. Walthall, pastor of the old Glade Presbyterian Church, Glade Springs, assisted by Rev. Robert A. Lapsey, Pastor of the First Presbyterian church of Roanoke.
Mr. Huff was born in Floyd County April 13, 1859 and son of Isaac H. and Lucinda Kefauver Huff. During his early manhood he engaged in farming in Roanoke County.  He moved to Washington County in 1895 where he engaged extensively in farming and cattle interests until his death.  In addition to his farming interests he was connected with various manufacturing, merchandising and banking businesses.  He was Vice-President and director of the Bank of Glade Springs and also Vice-President and director of Lindsey, Johnson & Co. of Roanoke.  He served on the boards of various business firms in Southwest Virginia.
He married Miss Blanche Vineyard of Vinton December 18, 1879.  Mr. & Mrs. Huff celebrated their golden anniversary December 18, 1929.  He is survived by his wife and three other children besides Mrs. Lindsey as follows; C.P. and H.W. Huff of Pulaski; and Ballard B. Huff of Glade Spring.  He is also survived by a sister Mrs. F.P. Rutrough of Roanoke and a brother P.C. Huff of Roanoke County.

Mr. Huff was a lifelong Democrat and much interested in Virginia politics, especially the ninth district.
