Headlight Herald 1-13-2010 Bill J. Hatcher was born Nov. 19, 1928, in Horton,
Kan., to Tiamon and Olivia (Graham) Hatcher. He died Dec. 29 at his home in Pacific City. Bill was married to Tamara I. McLelland in Tangent,
Ore., on Sept. 8, 1956. He worked as a maintenance foreman for School
District No. 48 in Beaverton. Bill was a member of the Tillamook Elk's
Lodge. He enjoyed working on engines, riding motorcycles,
photography, hunting and fishing. He is survived by his children, Debra Lynn Hata of
Portland and Daniel Matthew Hatcher of West Linn; grandchildren Alicia and
Karen Hatcher; and great-grandchild Aidan Hatcher. A private family inurnment will be held at a later
date. Memorial contributions may be made to the American
Red Cross. Arrangements are by Waud's Funeral Home. 2010

Obituary published in The Roanoke Times, 28 Oct 1996 HALL, Myrtle Hatcher, 90, of Floyd, passed away
Saturday, October 26, 1996, in Skyline Manor Nursing Home. She is survived by
two sons and daughters-in-law, Charles and Shelby Hall, and Pete and Rachel
Hall of Floyd; one stepdaughter, Mrs. Benton Higgs of Salem; six
grandchildren and spouses, Mark and Deana Hall, Michele and John Gallimore,
Lena and Douglas Alderman, Denise and Randy Smith and Kevin Hall of Floyd,
and Steven and Edna Hall of Bassett; seven step grandchildren, and one step
great-grandchild. Funeral services will be Tuesday, October 29, 1996,
at 11 a.m., at Gardner Funeral Home, with the Rev. Riley Ware officiating.
Interment will follow in Williams Cemetery. Friends may call after 1 p.m.
Monday at Gardner Funeral Home, where the family will be from 7 until 9 p.m. 1960

(Jabe) Hatcher, 84, of Floyd passed away Thursday, March 2, 2017. He was
preceded in death by his loving wife of 65 years, Norma Hatcher, his son,
Jerry Tilden Hatcher, and his parents, Harlow and Emily Hatcher. Left to
cherish his memory are his children, David (Darla) Hatcher, Sanford (Teresa)
Hatcher, and Alice (Ralph) Hollandsworth, and daughter-in-law, Susan Hatcher,
all of Floyd; six grandchildren, Mark (Stacy) Hollandsworth, Bradley Hatcher,
Allison (Anthony) Munsey, Ashley (Shayne) Poff, Telena (Riley) Harmon, and
Samuel Hatcher; and seven great-grandchildren, Trent, Gavin, Macy, Heath,
Tanner, James, and Harlow. Jabe served in the United States Army during the
Korean Conflict from 1953 to 1955. During his high school years his passion
was playing basketball in which he held a game high record of 51 points for
several years. The family would like to extend a special thanks to the
doctors, nurses and staff of Carilion Hospice, The Barter Clinic, and Skyline
Nursing and Rehab for their compassion and care for our father during this
difficult time. The family will receive friends from 4 to 6 p.m. on Saturday,
March 4, 2017 at Gardner Funeral Home in Floyd. Funeral services will begin
at 2 p.m. on Sunday, March 5, 2017, at Gardner Funeral Home with Pastor Roy
Turpin and Pastor Michael Bowman officiating. Interment will follow in

1938 in Willis, VA to Alvin Ray and Ethel (Bishop) Tolbert. Marie married
H.G. Hatcher on December 22, 1955 and they moved to Huntingtown in 1956.
Together they owned and operated businesses in Calvert County including the
Texaco gas station in Barstow and Hatcher Supply in Huntingtown. Marie was a
member of Huntingtown United Methodist Church. She enjoyed yard sales,
sewing, cooking and spending time with her family, especially her children
and grandchildren. Marie was fondly known as “Nanny” to many people,
including her grandchildren’s friends, customers, and other members of the
community. She was always willing to help others and will be greatly missed. Marie was preceded in death by her husband H.G.
Hatcher on April 11, 2018. She is survived by her children Alvin H. Hatcher
and wife Laura, Darryl L. Hatcher and wife Ronda and Carolyn Yost and husband
Scott, all of Huntingtown, and Renee Hatcher of Ridgecrest, CA, grandchildren
Josh, Zac, Jessica, Brittany, Riley, and Emma, great-grandchildren Arya,
Rhett, and Adelynn, sisters in law Lois Wade and Alease Hatcher, niece

Lord on Sunday, December 31, 2006. She was born February 16, 1920 in the
Shooting Creek section of Floyd County and later moved to the farm on what is
now Great Oaks Country Club. Her parents were General W. Boyd and Eula Radford
Boyd. She was predeceased by her parents and her
husband, Donald D. Hatcher. She was also predeceased by her brother, Wilson
Boyd, and her sisters, Leila Hatcher, Pauline Brockwell, Tempsey Moran,
Goldie Nolen, and her infant sister, Frances Evelyn Boyd. She is survived by: her daughter, Diane Reynolds,
and her sons, Ray Hatcher and companion, Bethel Reinhard, and Micky Hatcher
and wife, Carolyn; her dear sisters, Ocie Weddle, Irene Spangler, and Lucy
Harris. She leaves her grandchildren, Michaele Holloway and husband, E.C.,
Renee' Reynolds, Brenda Vest and husband Mike, Stephen Hatcher and wife,
Loretta, and Elizabeth Hatcher; great-grandchildren, Megan Weeks, Brittney
Hatcher, Travis Hatcher, Desiree Hatcher, Morgan Abe, Mickayelyn Hairston,

Wednesday, January 3, 2007 at Little River Baptist Church with the Reverend
Allan Vass officiating. Interment followed at Jacksonville Cemetery.
Following the burial, the family invited everyone to celebrate Granny's life
at Ray's Restaurant. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that
donations be made to the Little River Baptist Church Building Fund. The family would like to thank her saint, Dr. L.V.
