“Solomon Harman had a small corn mill at the old homestead in Floyd Co., VA known as the “Harman Mill”. His son, John, put in burrs in 1872. The mill was later run by John’s son in law, C. W. Harman. It is now run by A. T. Harman, this being in the possession of the Harman family for four generations.”

COVEY, Vera Alta Harman, 87, of Snowville, died Thursday, December 17, 1992 in a Dublin nursing home. 

She was the widow of Thomas Wise Covey. 

Surviving are a son and daughter-in-law, Albert W. and Eunice Covey of Radford; a son, William David Covey of Snowville; two daughters and sons-in-law, Ruth C. and William Withers of Lynchburg, and Ellen C. and Frank Moore of Draper; one sister, Mary India Bane of Christiansburg; nine grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren. 

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Saturday from the DeVilbiss Funeral Chapel with Mr. C.E. Mannon officiating. Interment will follow in the Covey Family Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the DeVilbiss Funeral Home.
