Obit: LOCKETT,
Elizabeth Dulaney, 84, of Roanoke, passed away Wednesday morning, November
20, 2002, at the Lewis-Gale Medical Center. Elizabeth was a lifelong member
of Belmont United Methodist Church and was preceded in death by her father
and mother, Bill and Beulah Dulaney of Roanoke; and a very special friend,
Julius (Poachy) Halpern. She leaves behind one precious and devoted daughter,
Loretta Lockett Grant of Roanoke; a sister-in-law, Florence Lockett of
Roanoke. Elizabeth is survived by a host of relatives and friends including
special cousins, Glenna Hammond, Mary Ann Roop, and Jewel Ricker, all of
Salem; special friends, Jeff and Beth Goldstein, Kay Nemeth, Jeanette
Sanders, and all the special "beach girls," all of Roanoke.
Elizabeth touched many lives and made everyone feel loved and special. A
graveside service will be held in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens Saturday,
November 23, 2002, 10 a.m., with the Rev. Debra R. Lucas officiating. In lieu
of flowers, contributions may be made to the Hollins Rescue Squad or the Duke
University Eye Center, 3802 Erwin Road, Durham, N.C. 27710. The family will
receive friends Friday 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at Oakey's North Chapel
(362-1237). 2002

Mountcasel. He was a member of Pressly Memorial ARP Church in McCormick,
South Carolina where he had served as an Elder. He was a 32nd Degree Mason,
Norfolk #1 AF & AM, Norfolk, Virginia, a member of The Shrine Khedive
Temple, Norfolk, Virginia, a charter member of McCormick Friends of the
Library, a member of the National Association of Retired Federal Employees,
had served as a volunteer Deputy Sheriff with the Chesapeake Sheriff's
Department and had served as a shelter parent for the First District Family
Court in Virginia. He is survived by his wife of the home;
a daughter, Leal D. Boyd and husband, Stephen Boyd of Chesapeake, Virginia; a
son, David Burnett DuLaney and wife, Twanya DuLaney of Athens, GA; two
grandchildren, Jesse Boyd and Allison Boyd of Chesapeake, VA; two sisters,
Barbara Jean DuLaney of Hampton, VA and Betty DuLaney Hall of York County, VA.
He was predeceased by his stepfather, Roy R. Mountcasel, three brothers,
Berkley D. Mountcasel of Martinsville, Virginia, Roy Ronald Mountcasel of
Crewe, Virginia and G. W. (Jerry) Mountcasel of Titusville, Florida. Mr. DuLaney was a graduate of Old Dominion
College and Pepperdine University in Virginia. He retired from the Norfolk
Naval Base Public Works Center as Superintendent of the Maintenance
Department and then he and his wife moved to McCormick where they have made
their home since 1992. The family request that in lieu of

Tuesday (July 5, 2005) in Blessing Hospital. Mrs.
Akers was employed by Hamilton public schools and St. Joseph Hospital in
Keokuk, Iowa, before moving to Quincy. She was a dietary technician at
Blessing Hospital for 10 years prior to her retirement. Survivors
include three sons, James Akers and Larry Akers, both of Decatur, and Roger
Akers and his wife, Linda, of Hampton; a niece, Judy Dulaney, and a nephew,
Haden Dulaney, both of Floyd; nine grandchildren; and six
great-grandchildren. She
was also preceded in death by her parents, a sister and two brothers. Funeral
services will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Friday in the Duker and Haugh Funeral
Home by Dr. Charles Baker. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery in
Hamilton. Visitation will be from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. Friday in the
funeral home. Memorials may be made to Lupus Research or to the donor's

Randolph Dulaney, 85, of 6800 Broadway, a longtime Loraine area farmer, died
at 11:10 a.m. Monday (Nov. 29, 1993) in Quinsippi Nursing Home in Quincy. Born
Feb. 21, 1908, in Plymouth, Mr. Dulaney was a son of Walter P. and Lydia Reed
Dulaney. A graduate of Elvaston High School, he was a former member of
Loraine Lodge 893 AF&AM, and a member of Mendon Lodge 449 AF&AM,
National Farmers Organization, and the Adams County Farm Bureau. He also was
a member of Faith Christian Church in Quincy and a longtime member of Loraine
Christian Church. On
Dec. 2, 1933, he married Edith Adelle Finley in Carthage. She survives. Survivors
also include two sons, James of Davenport, Iowa, and Danny of Quincy; a
brother, Robert of Hamilton; eight grandchildren, Mrs. Brian (Carla)
Birckelbaw and Mrs. Kim (Lori) Casner, both of Bloomington, Janie Dulaney of
Aledo, Scott Dean of Quincy, Sean Dean serving with the Marines at Camp
Lejeune, N.C., Allen Ballard of New London, Mo., Phil Ballard of La Grange,
Mo., and Julie Ballard of Kirksville, Mo.; and a great-granddaughter. Mr.
Dulaney was preceded in death by a daughter, Shirley Ballard; three brothers,
Oda, Dale and Oscar Dulaney; a granddaughter, Vickie Ballard; and a
half-brother, Raymond Dulaney. Services
will be conducted at 10 a.m. Thursday in the Curry-Hunter Funeral Home in
Mendon by the Rev. Kenneth Ballard. Burial will be in Marks Cemetery at La
Grange. Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Wednesday in the Curry-Hunter Funeral
Home with Masonic rites at 8 p.m. Memorials may be made to Tolona
Christian Church near La Grange or Mendon Masonic Lodge 449. 1993
