Akers died this morning at 12:20 o'clock at the home of his daughter, Mrs.
J.L. Craig, in East Pulaski. His death was due to paralysis, having suffered
a second stroke on Wednesday afternoon about 3 o'clock, since which time he
rapidly declined. He suffered a stroke about 4 years ago. The deceased was
well known in Pulaski county, having lived there in 55 of the 72 years of his
life. He leaves to mourn their loss the following adult children: Edward
Akers, of Bristol; Mrs. J.J. Morehead and Mrs. J.L. Craig of Pulaski; Mrs.
Lizzie Granner, Mrs. Lucy Cutlip, and Miss Gleana Akers of West Virginia. The
funeral service will be conducted from the home of his daughter on Saturday
afternoon at 3 o'clock, after which the body will be interred in the cemetery
at Thornspring.
