Born in BelAir, Md., he was a son of the late George P. and Rachel Simons Mitchell. Mr. Mitchell had been a resident of Aston for 49 years. Mr. Mitchell was a graduate of Springfield High School. He was employed as a long distant truck driver with Robbins Motor Transportation for 27 years until his retirement in 1981. Mr. Mitchell was a veteran of World War II. He was a member of the American Legion Post No. 926, Aston and The Killen Miles Post No. 87, Aston. A man devoted to his home and family, especially his grandson David Hancox, who was like a son to him and lived close by. He never missed a day to spend time with him. Survivors: Beloved wife, Edna J. Terry Mitchell; a daughter, Linda Hancox of Aston, PA; two sons, Steven Mitchell of Media and Walter H.
