1832 Birth: abt 1832 VA.

Note: According to Jain Ayers-McGuigan of SC in an e-mail dated 5-20-2004:

You ask of Irvin and Sarah, they married Dec. 27-1852, Carroll Co, VA (I have a copy of their marriage certificate).

He has been noted as the son of Jane Ayers (Patrick Co VA) no proof but also probably the grandson of Thomas Ayers and Barbry (Murphy) Ayers.

It has been said that Jane and his father never married as he was an Indian and she more or less was shunned. (ever since I can remember, I have always been told that we were part Indian) and that the Floyd and Pulaski Ayers' were all related (I was born and raised in Pulaski) 

Sarah Dickerson was the daughter of John and Mary (Cock/Cox) Dickerson, she was from Carroll Co. Sarah probably died between 1910-1920, as I have not found her after that time.

Irvin Ayers Sr died Feb. 21-1898, born Mar. 2, 1832 (family bible in hands of family member)

Irvin and Sarah divorced May 7, 1884 (I have copy of divorce). Irvin later married Leah L. Cox, Apr.21-1889. (Have copy of marriage certificate). They had several children before they ever married.

Homer Ayers, 76, of Mt. Olivet Rd., died Sunday morning in
Pulaski-General Hospital. Born March 22, 1893 In Floyd Co., he was the son of the late Lee and Virginia Cox Ayers and a veteran of World War I. Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Annie Burton Ayers; one son, James Ayers, Pulaski and one sister, Mrs. Penn Farmer, Meadowbrook, W..Va. The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday from Stickler's Chapel, conducted by the Rev. G. C. Timmermap. Burial will be in Andrews Cemetery. The body will, remain at the funeral home.
