Smith, 21 of Floyd & Charles A. Yearout 26 yo
of Christiansburg were fatally injured Sunday afternoon in a motorcycle
accident a mile west of Elliston in Montgomery County. Both died in a
Christiansburg hospital several hours after the accident. State Trooper R. L.
Chow said in a preliminary investigation that Miss Smith & Yearout in an attempt to pass a truck, struck the side of
an automobile driven by James M. Martin, 24 of Ironto.
Martin suffered minor injuries in the crash. |

2004 Everett Clifton Smith,
84, of Floyd, born July 25, 1919, passed into eternal rest on Saturday,
January 24, 2004. He was Army Veteran of
World War II. He worked road construction for many years and retired from
Lynchburg Foundry in 1982. He was preceded in death by his parents, Elmer
Smith and Gypsie Smith Boothe and a brother, Robert
(Bobby) Smith. He leaves to cherish
his memory three daughters, Faith and Nolen Radford, and Betty and Jim Tucker
all of Floyd and Nila Gray of Copper Hill; friend
and former wife, Ethel Smith of Floyd; four grandchildren, Rosie Henninger of
Copper Hill, Johnny Radford of Lynchburg, and Kristy Bowman and Gary Spence
of Floyd; five great-grandchildren, Holly Henninger of Copper Hill, Amber and
Kayla Radford of Lynchburg, and Marissa and Kaylen Bowman of Floyd; and
nieces and a nephew. At his request, there
will be no visitation or funeral. His wishes were that he be cremated. There
will be a memorial service 2 p.m. Sunday, February 1, 2004 at Floyd Church of
The Nazarene conducted by the Rev. Mike Varner. The Smith Family is being
