Mrs. Almeada Akers Kirby, 79, or 128 North College Ave., BluefieldVa., died Sunday night in a Bluefield hospital following a long illness.

Born in Floyd County, Va., she was a daughter of the late Riley Akers and Susan Bishop Akers. She was a member of the Grace Methodist ChurchBluefield.

Surviving are her husband, Mason Kirby, of Bluefield, Va.; two daughters, Mrs. W.E. Graham of Bluefield, Va., and Mrs. Madge K. Paxton of Nemours; two sisters, Mrs. Bess Crotty and Mrs. Martha Dickens, both of Bluefield; three brothers, Roosevelt (Buck) Akers of Bluefield, Melker Akers of Phoenix, Ariz., and Frank Akers of Pittsburgh, Pa.; four grandchildren and eight
great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Dudley Memorial Chapel in BluefieldVa., with Rev. James W. Hart officiating. Burial will follow in the Monte Vista Park Cemetery on the Bluefield-Princeton Road.

Friends may call at the mortuary after 6 p.m. today.
