Albert "Alb" Alexander

OGDEN---Alb Alexander, 82, died Friday, July 21, 2000 at his home of
causes incident to age.
He was born March 19th, 1918 in Copper Cliff, Ontario Canada, a son of
William S. and Mable G. Turner Alexander.
In 1938, Albert married Velma Smith (now Velma Stout) in Ogden. They were
later divorced. On February 14, 1970, he married Alice Turner McFarland in
Las Vegas, Nevada. Alice died August 18, 1983. Alb married Marian Jensen
on July 23, 1985 in Carson City, Nevada.
At the age of five, Alb moved to Ogden where he resided for the remainder
of his life.
He was a member of the Episcopalian Church.
Alb was a veteran of World War II and the Korean War, serving with the
U.S. Navy.
He worked at Defense Depot Ogden as a mechanic, and retired from Hill Air
Force Base where he had been an item manager.
Alb enjoyed carpentry, wood-working, and fishing. He was member of the
Elks Lodge.
Surviving are his wife, Marian of Ogden; one son and one daughter, Roy E.
(Yvonne) Alexander, Ogden; Lorie (Ernie) Hanson, Layton; eight
grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
Alb is also survived by one brother and two sisters, John (Hazel)
Alexander, Ogden; Shirley Alexander, San Fernando, Calif.; Gladis
Schwandeman, Salt Lake City.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Ray Albert (twin brother
of Roy); one sister, Bertha Duffin; and five brothers, Ernie, Art, Bill,
Robert, and Lenny Alexander.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 11 p.m. at Lindquist's Ogden
Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd.
Friends may call at the mortuary on Monday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Tuesday 10
to 10:45 a.m.
Interment, Ogden City Cemetery where Military Honors will be accorded by
the Combined Veterans Honor Guard.

ALICE T. ALEXANDER
Mrs. Alice Turner Alexander, 63, of 445 Harrison, died Thursday, Aug. 18,
1983, at her home. She was born Dec. 19, 1919, in Ogden, a daughter of
Percy W. and Frances Brooks Turner. She married Martin C. McFarland on
Sept. 1, 1937 in Ogden. They were later divorced. She married Albert E.
Alexander on Feb. 14, 1970 in Las Vegas, Nev. She was a member of the LDS
Church. She retired as assistant treasurer of the Ogden Railway Employees
Credit Union. She was a member of the Does Lodge of Ogden and Lady Elks of
Roy. She was also a member of the Ladies Auxillary Trainmen.
Surviving are her husband of Ogden; two daughters, Mrs. Ronald (Pat)
Denes, Fountain Valley, Calif. and Ms. Vikki Bingham, Ogden; one
stepdaughter, Mrs. Ernie (Lori) Hansen, Ogden; 12 grandchildren.
Also surviving are her mother of Ogden, one brother and three sisters,
David R. Turner, Ogden; Mrs. Clarence (Bertha) Johnson, Shingle Springs,
Calif.; Mrs. Ed (Lorraine) Dombrowski, Sunset; Mrs. Maxine Smith, Ogden.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, at 2 p.m. in the Myers Mortuary
Chapel in Ogden with Bishop Don Stephens officiating. Friends may call at
the mortuary Saturday from 12 noon until services. Interment in the Ogden
City Cemetery.
TURNER BAILEY DEAD

Remains will be shipped to the East for Interment.
Turner Bailey, the dentist, died yesterday at his residence 2408 Grant
Avenue, from dropsy and a complication of other diseases. He had been a
resident of Ogden for over twelve years.
The funeral will take place from the Congregational Church tomorrow,
February 28th, at 2 p.m. The remains will be shipped to Wiscasset, Maine,
his birthplace and boyhood home, for interment.
The remains can be viewed at anytime tomorrow morning at Richey's
undertaking parlor.
Angela Farr-Birchfield

Angela Farr-Birchfield, formerly of Lodi died Monday, April 30 in Ogden,
Utah from complications of a brain tumor. She was born August 14,1972 in
Lodi to Keith B. Farr and Betty Farr.
In her early years, Angela served as a fund-raiser and poster child for
the KWIN Sacramento-San Joaquin County Leukemia Society from 1983-86.
Nearly $180,000 was raised for leukemia research through her efforts.
Angela was an active skater in both California and Utah. She was reared in
Lodi, where she attended Lodi High School. She moved to Ogden, Utah in
1989 and graduated from Ben Lomond High School in 1990 with honors.
Angela was an active life-long member of the Church of Jesus Christ of
Latter-Day Saints. She taught Primary and Relief-Society in Washington
Terrace Utah. Angela was a sales representative for Deseret Industries for
many years prior to her illness. On November 17, 1995 Angela married Jason
Edwards Birchfield in the Jordan River Temple, Utah. Her immediate family
was present when she left this earth.
She is survived by her husband, Jason; her father, Keith B. Farr of Lodi;
her mother, Betty Farr of Washington Terrace, Utah; sisters Lisa F. Rigley
(Kenneth) of Layton, Utah and Susan F. Fahncke (Marty) of Kaysville, Utah;
and over 100 family members in California and Utah. Preceding Angela in
death was a son premature at birth and her grandparents Kenneth and Larene
Farr and Clifford and Virginia Petersen of Utah. Funeral services were
held May 4 at Lindquist Mortuary South Ogden, Utah. Interment was at the
Farr family division in West Weber, Utah. Angela, you will forever, until
the end of time be Dad's and Mom's little girl. We spiritually love you.

Richard H. Bott
Sacramento, Calif. ---- Richard Holton Bott, 56, of 2154 54th, formerly of
Ogden and Brigham City, died Tuesday in a Sacramento hospital.
Mr. Bott was born Jan. 6, 1915 in Brigham City, a son of Philip Wise and
Amy Holton Bott.
He was married to Mary Alice Cottew on March 15, 1938, in Ogden.
He lived in Weber County for 30 years before moving to Sacramento.
He was a member of the LDS Church.
Surviving are his widow of Sacramento; one son, Richard Lee Bott,
Sacramento; two grandchildren; his father of Brigham City; three brothers,
Philip H. Bott, Mark H. Bott, both of Ogden; John H. Bott, Corinne; three
sisters, Mrs. Phyllis Baron, Brigham City; Mrs. LaRue (Frewtrilla) Yates,
Brigham City; Mrs. Loren (Myla) Judd, Los Altos, Calif.
Funeral services and burial will be in Sacramento.

WASHINGTON TERRACE --- Arch Valjean Bronson, 92, of Washington Terrace,
died
Wednesday, Nov. 24, 1982, in an Ogden nursing home.
He was born March 11, 1890, in Monticello, Utah, a son of Wilmer W. and
Marion
Frengler Bronson.
On April 12, 1922 he married Hyacinth Nielsen in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.
She
died June 2, 1942. On Dec. 26, 1947, he maried Mary Morgan in the Logan
LDS Temple.
She died Oct. 6, 1975.
He had been employed at Hill Air Force Base and had served in the Army
during World
War I.
He was a member of the Washington Terrace 1st Ward and had formerly sung
in the
Tabernacle Choir. He had also served as a ward choir leader and was a
member of the
Seventies Quorum.
He moved to Ogden in 1943, from Monticello, Utah.
Surviving are three sons, Boyd C. Bronson, Salt Lake City; Jack S.
Bronson, and David
E. Bronson, both of Ogden; two daughters, Mrs. Lewis (Betty) Hampton,
Tooele; and Mrs.
Eugene (Joyce) Tracy, Ogden; 25 grandchildren and 35 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were conducted Monday at 1 p.m. in the Myers Mortuary
Chapel in
Ogden with President Ernest B. Wheeler officiating.
Friends may call at the mortuary Sunday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Monday prior
to services.
Interment in the Salt Lake City Cemetery.

David J. Brooks, 78, of 2547 Jefferson, died Sunday evening at the Dee
Hospital.
Mr. Brooks was born March 14, 1886, in Ogden, a son of Frederick and
Harriet Whatman Brooks. In 1904 he was married to Elizabeth Petersen in
Ogden. They were later divorced.
He had been a miner in Nevada and had been employed by J.H. Wheelright Co.
in Ogden and Ogden Arsenal.
Surviving are five sons and one daughter, William H. Brooks, Lawrence
Brooks, Frank Brooks, Monte Brooks, all of Ogden; Charles Brooks,
Milwaukee, Wis.; Mrs. John (Mabel) Parcell, Ogden; 23grandchildren, one
brother, William J. Brooks, San Diego; two sisters, Mrs. Frances Stoker,
Ogden; Mrs. Alice Ross, Oakland, Calif.
Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday at 3 p.m. in the Myers
Mortuary with Rev. Roy E. Wiegand of the First Baptist Church officiating.
Friends may call at the mortuary Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Wednesday
prior to services.
Burial is in Ogden City Cemetery.

Thursday, June 8, 1933
Services for Mrs. Emma Tracy were held in the Marriott L.D.S. ward Chapel
Wednesday afternoon, with Bishop C. Lawrence Slater presiding. Musical
numbers were given by Gladys Van Drimmelen, Erma Van Den Akker, Vernetta
Naylor, Elijah Clawson, June Ballantyne,
and Harvey Butler. The invocation was given by Bishop Thomas Powell and
the benediction by Orson Allred. The speakers were President Frank W.
Stratford, Lawrence Ritchie, Mary M. Butler, and President A.W. Tracy.
Interment was made in the Ogden City Cemetery and the grave dedicated by
Washington Thompson. Grandsons were pallbearers and granddaughters took
charge of the flowers.

Services for Mrs. Lyda Gardner Clapier were held Wednesday afternoon in
the L.D.S. Fifteenth ward chapel, with Bishop Earl E. Lee presiding. The
music was furnished by
Mrs. Mathel Ridges, Clara Southwick, and Phyllis Wilson. The invocation
was given by
Bishop W.C. Hunter, and the benediction by Vernon F. Gibbs. The speakers
were Bishop Arthur M. Ferrin, C.W. Wimmer, John Q. Blaylock, Bishop E. E.
Lee. Interment was made in the Liberty Cemetery and Bishop P.J. Clark
dedicated the grave.

Far West - Cyril "Cy" Jessop Clough, 82, of Far West, Utah, died
Wednesday, Feb 22, 1989, as St Benedict's Hospital following surgery.
He was born Feb 27, 1906, in Yorkshire, England, A son of James R and
Matilda Jessop Clough.
The family came to Rock Springs, Wyo., when he was a young child and he
later lived with friends in Wellsville where he attended school.
He married LaRue Archibald on May 2, 1927, in Farmington and their
marriage was later solemnized in the Logan LDS Temple. She died in 1976.
He married Patricia Munro on pril 28, 1977 in the Ogden. They were sealed
in the Ogden LDS Temple on Sept 28, 1978.
A member of the LDS church, he was a high priest in the Far West 1st ward.
From 1927 to 1973 he was employed by the railroad. Including the UIC and
the OUR&D (Union Pacific).
He was a member of the Brotherhood of Railroad Trainmen, and Union Pacific
Old Timers and Southern Pacific Old Timers. He was also a member of Golden
Hour's Senior Citizens Center.
He is survived by his widow, Patricia Clough, of Farr West: By four
children, Mrs. Lorraine Wheat, Brigham City ; C Blaine Clough, Red Bluff,
Calif.; Mrs. Shirley Mikkelsen, Syracuse; Kenneth R Clough, Clearfield; 14
grandchildren, 16 Great Grandchildren, 1 great-great grandson, and three
stepsons, James W. Munro, Salt Lake City; Richard D Munro, North Ogden;
Thomas R Munro, Seattle, Wash.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, and three sisters.
Funeral services will be held Saturday at 1 p.m. at Leavitt's Chapel of
Flowers Mortuary, 836 36th St, Ogden,

Mattie Cunnington

Matilda J. Cunnington, of Hooper, died Wednesday,December,20th, 1995. She
was born August 12 1904, in West Weber, Utah, a daughter of Thomas M and
Matilda McFarland Jones. She married Joseph A (Allie) Cunnington, on Aug.
17th 1924. He died May 27th. 1955.
She was raised in Hooper. Mattie lived in her pretty Brick home in Hooper
for many years.
Mattie and Allie had two sons and two daughters, Keith Robert, and Chloy
Cunnington, Shirley Koberna and Juana Anderson. 10 Grandchildren and 13
Great grandchildren
Surviving are the following brothers, Arch Jones, Robert Jones, Bert
Jones. She was preceded in death by her son Chloy, and three sisters, and
two brothers. She is buried in the Hooper Cemetery.
DOROTHY MAY (TAYLOR) DOOLITTLE
Dorothy Doolittle passed away on June 26, 2003 at 2:45 P.M. in Fairfax,
Virginia. She was 88 years old and suffered from Alzheimer's disease.
Born in Ogden, Utah on June 9, 1915, to John Rich Taylor and Mary Alice
Siddoway Taylor, Dorothy moved with her family to Southern California in
1930.
On July 08, 1939, she married Merrill Taylor Doolittle, who passed away at
the age of 86 in Fairfax, Virginia, on April 19, 2000. Merrill had retired
from Lockheed Missiles & Space Co. in 1974, where he had worked at their
Sunnyvale and Van Nuys, California installations.
Dorothy and Merrill were members of The Church of Jesus Christ of
Latter-Day Saints. They enjoyed square dancing during much of their
married life together. Dorothy was a member of the Daughters of the Utah
Pioneers. She was the great-granddaughter of John Taylor, 3rd president of
The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.
Dorothy and Merrill lived in Rocklin, California from 1989-1997. In 1997,
they returned to Hemet, California, where they have lived previously from
1976-1989.
Prior to Hemet, they resided in San Jose, California, from 1964-1976 and
prior to that in Southern California including over 20 years in North
Hollywood.
In 2000, Dorothy and Merrill moved to Fairfax, Virginia, to be near their
son and daughter-in-law, Rep. John Doolittle (R-Rocklin) and Julia Harlow
Doolittle, and to be able to receive better care for Dorothy's Alzheimer's
disease.
Dorothy is survived by her brother, Jack S. Taylor of Newport Beach,
California and her sister, Mary Lou Maloy, of Toluca Lake, California; by
her sister-in-law Jeanne Aytes of Reno, Nevada; and by her daughter,
Sharon Bauer of Apache Junction, Arizona and her son, John T. Doolittle of
Rocklin, Calif; and by her grandchildren, J. T. Doolittle and Courtney
Anne Doolittle.
Funeral services will be private. Interment will be at Fairfax Memorial
Park.

Mrs. Mary Toolson Horne, 74, of 2888 Marilyn Drive, was dead on arrival at
the St. Benedict's Hospital Monday afternoon of injuries suffered in an
automobile accident.
Mrs. Horne was born June 14, 1897, in Smithfield, a daughter of Andrew and
Laura Buxton Toolson.
She was married to Aaron S. Horne. He died in 1964.
She graduated from the Utah State University and taught school in Midvale
and Ogden.
She had resided in Ogden the past 35 years and had been employed as a
clerk at Clearfield Naval Supply Depot and Hill Air Force Base.
She had been a Relief Society teacher in the 43rd LDS Ward, and was a
member of the Child Culture Club, American Legion Auxillary, Daughters of
the American Revolution, International Relations Club and Daughters of
Utah Pioneers.
Surviving are two daughters; Mrs. Elaine H. Liddell, Mrs. Russell (Helen)
Farr, both of Ogden; eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; one
brother, Wayne Toolson, Clearfield.
Funeral services will be held Thursday at 1 p.m. in the Larkin Chapel of
the Dawn with Bishop Robert A. Madsen of the 43rd Ward officiating.
Friends may call at the mortuary Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Thursday
prior to services.
Burial will be in the Ogden City Cemetery.

Kaysville---Earl Raymond Howard, 82, of 270 N. 300 W., died Friday, April
10th, 1987 at the Humana Hospital, Davis North in Layton of emphysema.
He was born Jan. 21, 1905 in Oklahoma City, Okla., a son of Levi Lawson
and Annie Elizabeth Flanagan Howard.
He married Eva Mildred Tipton April 4, 1925 in Council Bluff, Iowa.
He had been an Auto Mechanic.
He had lived and also farmed in Oklahoma, Nebraska, and Iowa.
He was baptized a member of the LDS Church in 1986.
He was a great humanitarian and was very inventive and mechanical.
He was a Veteran, serving in the U.S. Army.
Surviving are his widow of Kaysville; two sons and one daughter, Larry
Howard, Clearfield; Ran Dee Howard, Ogden; Mrs. Reed (Leola) Van Wagoner,
West Valley City; 19 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Also, surviving are one brother and three sisters, Ivan Howard, Oklahoma;
Faye Harris, Sioux City, Iowa; Pearl Owens, Sloan, Iowa; Mildred
Brodersen, Merrill, Iowa.
He was proceeded in death by one son.
Services will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Lindquist's Kaysville
Mortuary, 400 N. Main, with Bishop Glen Taylor of the Kaysville 19th Ward
officiating.
Friends may call at the mortuary, Monday from 6 to 8 p.m. and on Tuesday
one hour prior to service.
Interment, Lindquist's Washington Heights Memorial Park.
Eva Mildred Tipton Howard

Ogden---Eva Mildred Tipton-Howard, 93, was called home Thursday, April 26,
2001.
She was born July 28, 1908 in Macy, Nebraska, a daughter of Charles Edward
and Lottie Karns Tipton.
Eva married Earl Raymond Howard on April 4, 1925 in Council Bluffs, Iowa.
They moved to Utah in 1956.
She worked at Boeing Aircraft during World War II, and also at Stephen's
Cannery and Del Monte.
Surviving are two sons, Larry Howard and Ran Dee Howard, SR., both of
Ogden; her caregivers as well as her granddaughters, Van Dee Howard and
Trini Tracy, both of Ogden; a niece, Lyla Moore, Omaha, NEB., a
sister-in-law, Mildred Brodersen of Le Mars, Iowa; 17 grandchildren, 26
great-grandchildren, and 6 great-great grandchildren, all who loved her
greatly.
She was proceeded in death by her parents, three brothers, three sisters,
her husband, Earl Howard, a son, Everett, and a daughter, Leola.
Funeral services will be held Monday at 1 p.m. at Lindquist's Ogden
Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd.
Friends may call the mortuary on Sunday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Monday 11:45
a.m. to 12:45 p.m.
Interment, Lindquist's Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington
Blvd., where she will be laid to rest next to her husband.

Harold Minor Jones

Harold Minor Jones 39 , a lifetime resident of Hooper, Weber, Utah, died
at ten thirty a.m. July 3 1950, after a very short illness. He had been
operating a pea vinery in Hooper for the California packing Corp, when
fumes leaking from a gas motor, over-came him.
He was born Feb.15 1911 in Hooper, a son of Hyrum G and Florence Flinders
Jones. He had always lived in Hooper.
On Aug 27,1930, he married Flora King, in Ogden, and later received
endowment at L.D.S. S.L.C. Temple.
He was a member of Hooper First ward and at the time of death was
president of his Ward Y.M.M.I.A. Minor was a elder and active in Boy Scout
work.
Surviving are his widow Flora, and the following Son and Daughters: Harold
Ray, Donna, Melba, Linda, and 3mo old Shirley Jones, Mrs Orson (Beth)
Christensen, all of Hooper.
His parents, Hooper, and the following brothers and sisters; Don and Clyde
Jones of Ogden; Alton and Edsel Jones of Hooper; Mrs Eva Dawson
Clearfield, Mrs Edna Thurgood and Mrs Elda Flint of West Point. The body

Died at Kanesville--- Mrs Isabella M Jones, wife of the late John Thomas
Jones. died at the family residence at Kanesville, yesterday
morning,(March 31 1909) after a brief illines of apoplexy.
Born Feb 20 1822 in Lintrathen Angus Scotland, the daughter of Margaret
Downy and James Mckenzie.
Funeral services will be held at the Kansville meeting house tomorrow
forenoon at 11 0'clock.
The body will be buried in the Ogden cemetery.
Margaret Anderson Jones

Provo, May 10 1916-- Mrs Margaret Anderson Jones, who died at Provo
general hospitial, May 08 after an operation for appendicitis, was born
Dec 17 1848, daughter of Catherine Mckenzie and Alexander Anderson, in
Perth Scotland.
She joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and came to
Utah in 1865. She made her homes in Salt Lake and Kanesville, (Weber)Utah.
She had came to Prove for a visit with her only daughter Mrs.John F
Rawson, when she took ill.
Twenty five years ago her husband John Thomas Jones, died leaving her with
a family of eight children to raise. Five whom survived as follows: Mrs J
F Rawson (Catherine) of Provo. John Thomas Jones of Pocatello. Thomas Rose
Jones, Kanesville, Hyrum George Jones of Metropolis. Robert Jones of
Preston, and a number of grandchildren.
For a number of years Mrs Jones, held the office of president of Relief
society of Kanesville and was well thought of by all who knew her. She was
in every respect a devoted Latter-day Saint. Interment in the Ogden
cemetery

Washington Terrace - Marie Jessop Clough Kemp, 72, of 5260 S. 500 W. ,
died Sunday, June 21, 1987 at the St. Benedict's Hospital of an Aneurysm.
She was born Nov. 8 1914, in Rock Sprongs, Wyo., a daughter of James
Richard and Matilda Jessop Clough.
She married Charles Galeen Smith in 1933 in Ogden. They were later
divorced. She married Walter T. Anderson in 1947. They were later
divorced. She married William H Kemp in 1955. They were also divorced.
She was a member of the LDS Washington Terrace 8th ward.
She was reared and educated in Ogden.
She began working at the Ogden Arsenal and then was transferred to Hill
Air Force Base as a key punch operator, and later became a supervisor over
key punch. She then moved to San Diego and began working for Ryan's
Aeronautics for four years. She then moved back to Ogden and returned to
Hill Air Force Base in Data Services and retired in 1976 as a supervisor.
She enjoyed computers, games, and was an avid bird watcher.
Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Leonard (Geraldine) Stitzer, Washington
Terrace; Three Grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
Also surviving are two brothers, Edward J Clough, Layton, and C. J.
Clough, Far West.
She was preceded in death by one son, one brother and two sisters.
Services will be held Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. at Leavitt's Chapel of
Flower's Mortuary with Bishop Robert J Rich of the Washington Terrace 8th
ward officiating.
Friends may call at the mortuary Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Wednesday
one hour prior to services.
Internment will be in the Aultorest Memorial Park.

William N. Kennedy, 68, of 2907 Orchard Circle, died Wednesday at his home
of heart failure.
Mr. Kennedy was born Nov. 1, 1903 in Decatur, Ill., a son of Mr. and Mrs.
Samuel Oscar Kennedy.
He was married to Maud H. O'Brian in Decatur, Ill. She died in 1965.
He came to Ogden in August 1968 to live with a son and was a member of the
Baptist Church.
He was a former employee of McDonnell Aircraft Corp. in St. Louis, Mo.
Surviving are three sons and one daughter, William N. Kennedy, Jr., Ogden;
Paul E. Kennedy, James B. Kennedy, both St. Louis, Mo.; Mrs. Steven
(Sheila) Daniel, Marion, Ky.; five grandchildren; two brothers, Lynn
Kennedy, St. Louis; Robert Kennedy, Palm Beach, Fla.
The body was shipped by the Chapel of Flowers Mortuary to St. Louis for
services and burial.
Flora Wadsworth King

Hooper: Mrs Flora Belle Wadsworth King, died in Ogden (Weber Co.) December
22 1977 at the age of 88.
She was born July 24 1889 in Cottonwood Canyon [Morgan County], the
daughter of William and Martha Ann Hardy Wadsworth. She married Grover
King Nov.23 1910.in the Salt Lake Temple. Grover passed away Nov.21 1951.
They are the parents of 6 daughters, Twins Flora [Minor Jones] and Nora
[Bernard] Poulsen, Lucille [Gene] Finch, Vivian [Lewis Field] Bertha
[Elmer] Potokar, Hazel [Kenneth] Searcy. She had 24 Grandchildren, 63
Great grandchildren and 15 Great Great grandchildren. Flo lived in Hooper
most of her life. Her husband Grover ran the Hooper Tomato factory and the
Hooper Pea viners for many years. She loved her home,and always had a
beautiful flower garden. Her front porch was her family and friends
favorite gathering spot for many many years.
She is buried in the Hooper Cemetery.
Bertha Lawrence

Bertha Mary Crame Lawrence, 84 died at her home, 3200 Pacific Ave., this
morning of causes incident to age. Mrs. Lawrence was a member of the
Episcopal Church of the Good Shepherd.
She was born Nov. 3, 1870, at Hungerford, England, a daughter of Thomas
and Mary Bunts Crame. She came to the United States in 1918.
Survivors include her husband, one son by a former marriage, Albert E.
Turner of Ogden, and two daughters, Mrs. William S. (Mabel) Alexander and
Mrs. Leonard (Daisy) Cashmore of Ogden.
Also surviving are 23 grandchildren and 31 great grandchildren, one
brother, and one sister, Harry Crame and Mrs. Mary Smith of England.
Funeral services will be announced later by Myers and Foulger Mortuary,
533 36th St.

South Ogden - Leland Carl London, 88, died Wednesday, September 1, 1993 of
causes incident to age.
He was born August 1, 1905 in Croydon, Utah, a son of Oliver Charles and
Katie Bell Blackwell London.
He married Elizabeth Jessop Clough on June 12, 1929 in the Salt Lake LDS
Temple. She died Sept. 17, 1985.
He was raised and educated in Croydon and had lived in the Ogden area for
the past 60 years.
He was an active member of the Ogden 19th and the South Ogden 14th LDS
wards, and was currently a member of the South Ogden 38th ward where he
had been a high priest.
Mr. London had worked at the American Can Company. He owned his own
plumbing business and he also worked for the Weber County treatment plant
until his retirement.
Surviving are one son and one daughter, Wayne C and Eva Lynn London, Roy;
Mrs. Dean R (Sharlene) Mayberry, Ogden; nine grandchildren, and 11 great
grandchildren.
Also surviving is one brother, Harold C London. Pennsylvania.
He was proceeded in death by two brothers. Nello London, and Darold London
and two sisters, Nona Reese and Verna Dallinga.
Funeral services will be held Saturday at 1 p.m. at Lindquist Ogden
Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd.
Friends may call at the mortuary on Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Saturday
noon to 12:45 p.m.
Internment, Lindquist's Washington Heights Memorial Park.

Lillian Howell Baird madden - aged 72, wife of John Madden, died Wednesday
afternoon at 2' o clock at the home, 258 Twenty-first Street, following a
three week illness. She was born on Sep. 7, 1858 in St. Louis, MO, and
came to Ogden in 1885.
Surviving are the husband John Madden, two daughters; Mrs. Francis
Starkey, Roy, and Mrs. William Christensen, Ogden; a sister Mrs. J. H.
Weller, Ogden, a brother David Howell of Los Angeles; seven grandchildren
and 13 great grandchildren.
Services will be held Saturday afternoon a 1 o' clock in the Lindquist and
Sons Chapel with Bishop M.B. Richardson presiding. The body may be viewed
at the home Friday and Saturday morning at 11 o' clock. It may then be
viewed at the Lindquist Chapel until hour of services. Interment will be
made in the Hooper Cemetery.

died Wednesday from a heart ailment, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Eva

Bishop John Dee Hooper in charge. Interment will be in the Hooper
Cemetery. Mrs Manning was born in Ogden Feb, 15 1856, daughter of John I
and Sarah Collins Hart, but has resided here since 1872.

ROY---Floyd Tracy McFarland, 91, of Roy, passed away Wednesday, Feb. 10,
1993.
He was born March 14, 1901 in Marriott, Utah, a son of James B. and Zina
Jane Tracy McFarland.
On April 1, 1920, he married Ruth E. Bair in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. She
died Dec. 31, 1940. On May 3, 1947, he married Christiana Ross in Salt
Lake City.
During his younger years he worked 28 years for the Western Auto Retail
Stores in Ogden as an assistnad manager and manager. Since 1952, he was
engaged in home construction and remodeling.
Surviving are his widow of Roy; one son and four daughters: Floyd T.
McFarland, Jr., Mrs. James E. (Marjorie) Walker, Mrs. Earl (LuJean)
Stuart, all of Ogden; Mrs. Carl (Louise) Hodson of Marriott and Mrs. Dee
(Margaret) Bennett of North Salt Lake; 21 grandchildren, 63
great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.
Also surviving are one brother, Russell McFarland of Liberty, two sisters,
Mrs. Florence Lewis and Mrs. Dorothy Stanger, both of Ogden.
He was preceded in death by two brothers: Glen & Jimmy, one sister Maude
and two grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at Leavitts Chapel of
Flowers Mortuary, 836 36th St., where family will greet friends Saturday
from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m.
Interment: Ogden City Cemetery.
Earl Moss

Earl Moss, 64, was found dead in his room in the hotel at 186
Twenty-fifth, Saturday, following a brief illness. He had been a resident
of Ogden for about a year. He was born in McCammon, Idaho, in 1880, a son
of Mr. and Mrs. C. P. Moss.
In 1905 he married Viola Monroe at Lava Hot Springs, Idaho. She died 31
years ago. He worked in the livestock industry. Survivors include the
following sons and daughters: Elroy C. Moss, Red Bluff, Calif.; Mrs.
Thelma Stine, Nampa, Idaho; Mrs. Naomi Robinson and Mrs., Kathleen Olson,
Oakland Calif.: nine grandchildren and several brothers and sisters
residing in Idaho.
Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday at two p.m. in the Lava Hot
Springs L.D.S. ward chapel by J. R. Maughn bishop. Burial will be in Lava
Hot Springs cemetery. The Body is at the mortuary, 836 Thirty-sixth,
Ogden.

WIFE OF THE SOUTHERN PACIFIC
SUPERINTENDANT DIES
Superintendant J.S. Noble of the Southern Pacific, received a telegram
this forenoon from Los Angeles announcing the death of Mrs. Noble, which
occurred this morning.
Mr. Noble left for the coast at noon today.
Mrs. Noble was one of the most popular of Ogden's society ladies, being
generous, talented and winning friends in all circles. Her health has been
poor for some time and she has been on the coast in hopes that the genial
climate of Southern California might in a measure restore her health.
Last Spring she made a trip to Europe and on her return she went directly
to Los Angeles. For the last week her condition has been such as to
inspire no hope of recovery.
Her remains will be cremated at Pasadena, Calif.

Perry----Wesley Osmond, 70, of Perry died this morning at his home of a
heart ailment.
Mr. Osmond was born March 31, 1901 in Afton, Wyo., a son of George and
Amelia Jacobsen Osmond.
He was married to Vera Dray. They were divorced. He was married to Ruby
Nelson on Sept. 16, 1934, in Bloomington, Idaho.
He came to Perry in 1935 and operated a fruit farm and milk ranch. He was
formerly employed at the Perry Cannery.
He was a member of the Perry LDS Ward and a former member of the Perry
Town Board.
Surviving are his widow of Perry; two sons and one daughter, James Osmond,
Los Angeles, Calif.; Rex Osmond, Riverdale; Mrs. Roland (Leona) Stander,
Bear River City; eight grandchildren and one great grandchild; two
sisters, Mrs. Mary Willis, Kaysville; Mrs. Leona Umschied, Forest Grove,
Ore.
Funeral services will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at the Felt Funeral
Chapel in Brigham City.
Friends may call at the mortuary Friday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Saturday
prior to services.
Burial will be in the Bloomington, Idaho, Cemetery.

COUNTY'S FIRST FEMALE DEPUTY DIES
CLINTON --- Hazel Elizabeth James Park, 80, of 933 W. 2300 North, formerly
of Washington Terrace, died Monday, Oct. 20, 1986, at a local nursing home
of heart failure.
She was born Dec. 3, 1905, in Rockport, Mo., a daughter of David H. and
Mellie E. Weston James. She married Ralph M. Bates. He later died. She
married Albert A. Smith Nov. 18, 1929 in Council Bluffs, Iowa. They were
later divorced. She married Russell L. Park in 1947 in Omaha, Neb. He
later died.
She had lived in the Ogden area since 1947. She was a high school graduate
and attended Weber State College for one year.
She worked as the first woman deputy sheriff in Weber County. She was a
teacher for Steven's Henager College and later organized and worked as
president of the Golden Spike Country-Western Music Association.
She was a member of the LDS Church and was active in the Young Women's
organization donating numerous road shows. She also taught drama.
"Hazel Park Day" was held in her honor on July 20, 1986.
During World War II she sold Series E War Bonds and later provided gifts
to the wounded at Clark Air Force Base Hospital in the Philipines during
the Vietnam War.
She pioneered programs for the handicapped in Utah, broadcasting from KVOG
in Ogden, raising funds for wheelchairs, mattresses, braces, and other
items to shut-ins. She arranged ambulance rides up Ogden Canyon, held
fishing parties, and picnics for the handicapped for 23 years. Her efforts
were acknowledged by an appearance on the television program "About
Faces".
She presented Utah talent at a concert for the president and 1,000 guests
at the White House in 1977, and produced the annual Pioneer Days Concert
for 17 years.
Surviving are one son and three daughters, Albert D. Smith, Orem; Mrs.
Glen L. (June) Wilson, Clinton; Mrs. John J. (Janice) Scarborough,
Orlando, Fla.; Mrs. LeRoy C. (Mellie) Smith, Lake Wales, Fla.; 32
grandchildren and 32 great-grandchildren.
Also surviving are three brothers and two sisters, Melford James, Benjamin
James, both of Nebraska City, Neb.; Raymond James, Blair, Neb.; Mrs. Clay
(Genevieve) Massey, McMinnville, Ore.; and Mrs. Dale (Vera) Whaley, Omaha,
Neb.
She was preceded in death by three brothers and two sisters.
Services will be Friday at 11 a.m. in the Larkin and Sons Mortuary where
friends may call Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Friday from 10 to 10:45
a.m.
Interment will be in the Ogden City Cemetery.

Laura Coulter Nelson Peasley, 76, 2579 Monroe, died in a local hospital
Wednesday.
She was born Dec. 18, 1865, in Franklin county, Ohio. She was a member of
the Methodist church and had been an Ogden resident for the past 25 years.
Surviving are a son, Elmer P. Nelson, Ogden; and a sister, Mrs. W.L.
Richardson of Gunnison, Colo.; five grandchildren and five
great-grandchildren.
She lived in Ohio until she was about 25, then moved to Colorado, where
she married James Nelson, who was killed in a mine accident. In 1890 she
married William Peasley in Denver, who died in 1914. She later moved to
Nevada to live with her son and then came to Ogden in 1916.
Funeral rites will be held Friday at one p.m. in the Aultorest chapel.
Entombment will be in Aultorest mausoleum. The body may be viewed this
evening from seven-thirty until nine-thirty o'clock at the Aultorest
mortuary, and until time of services Friday."

Grace M. Schell dies in hospital
Mrs. Grace M. Schell, 68, of 814 Carolina Street, Vallejo, CA, died
yesterday (10.21.1956) in a local hospital after a long illness.
She was a native of Arkansas City, Kansas, and had been a Vallejo resident
for 32 years.
Mrs. Schell was a past president of the McKinley School PTA and a member
of the Vallejo Woman's Club. She was also a member of the Ogden, Utah
chapter of Eastern Star.
Surviving are her one son, Andrew G. Schell of Vallejo, CA, a cousin, Mrs.
Ruth Mathew of Berkeley and an aunt Mrs. Rose Summers of Berkeley.
She was the widow of the late Andrew Schell of Vallejo, CA.
Funeral services are pending at Wiggins Funeral Home.

Iris Sowell of Hooper, Weber Co. Utah. passed away Friday Jan 10, 1997.
She was born Aug. 25 1906 in Hooper. A daughter of William and Martha Ann
Hardy Wadsworth. She
married Carl Sowell Oct. 6 1927. He died may 31 1962.
Iris and Carl had two sons, Carl Wesley [Florence] Sowell,
Clyde [Ruby] Sowell, and a daughter Ilah Jean [Harvey] Holdeman. 11
grandchildren and 27 great grandchildren.
Iris was last living child of Martha Ann and William Wadsworth's family.
After her husband Carl passed away, she moved back to Hooper, and lived in
the old Wadsworth home. Her father built the home in 1897. It was built on
the same foundation of the first Hooper tomato factory. The factory was
burned down after a wage dispute and a suit was brought against Nephi
Hardy, L.P.Johnson & Co. for the Hooper canning co.

Washington Terrace---Robert William Stewart, 70, of 4595 S. 400 W., was
dead on arrival at the St. Benedict's Hospital Monday afternoon after a
lingering illness.
Mr. Stewart was born June 9, 1901, in Kansas City, Mo., a son of Robert W.
and Ada May Smith Stewart.
On April 27, 1922, he was married to Florence Henderson in Brigham City.
He had lived in the Ogden area since 1920 and had worked as a mechanic for
Fisher-Hess Co. for 32 years. He also worked two years for J.W. Brewer
Tire Co. before retiring.
He had been a member of the Washington Terrace Volunteer Fire Department
for the past 20 years.
Surviving are his widow and one daughter, Mrs. Pearl Blair, both of
Washington Terrace; one grandchild; one brother and two sisters; Frank E.
Stewart, Sacramento, Calif.; Mrs. Pearl Curney, Soda Springs, Idaho; Mrs.
Ethel Jones, Oxnard, Calif.
Funeral services will be held Thursday at 3 p.m. in Lindquist and Son's
Colonial Chapel with Bishop Frank G. Garvis officiating.
Friends may call at the mortuary Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Thursday
prior to services.

Dorothy Leone Stitzer, 74, of 913 E 1120 S. died Saturday. Oct. 11, 1986
at her home of congestive heart failure.
She was born on July 2, 1912 in Ogden, a daughter of Leonard George and
Sarah Saunders Stitzer.
She had served in the Army Nurse Corps. And was a Veteran of World War II.
She graduated from Ogden High School in 1930. She attended the Dee
Hospital school of nursing and graduated in 1933. and received a bachelor
of Science degree in nursing education from the University of Utah in
1954.
She had been employed at the KcKay-Dee Hospital as a registered nurse, a
clinical director, and a nursing supervisor. She retired in 1977 after
many years of service.
She was a member of the Ogden LDS 21st ward.
Surviving are two sister-in-law, Mrs. Dessie D Stitzer and Mrs. Jess
(Vilda) Norman, both of Ogden; one step-sister, Mrs. Delle Chrisman,
Ogden; one nephew and three nieces.
Graveside services will be held on Wednesday at 11 a.m. at the Ogden City
Cemetery with Bishop Richard Skeen of the Ogden 21st ward officiating;
Friends may call at the Myers Mortuary in Ogden Wednesday from 9:45 to
10:45 a.m.
Military honors will be accorded at the graveside by the Veterans of
Foreign Wars Color Guard.
In lieu of flowers, family suggest that contributions be made to Hospice
of Northern Utah.

Frances R. Brooks Turner Stoker, 92, formerly of 560 Jefferson, died
Wednesday, February 4, 1987, at the St. Benedict's Hospital of heart
failure.
She was born Sept. 25, 1894, in Ogden, a daughter of William and Harriett
Whatman Brooks.
On Dec. 18, 1915, she married Percy Turner in Ogden. They were later
divorced. She later married Earl Stoker. He died in 1973.
She was a member of the 8th LDS Ward, and held many positions in the
church. She was active in the Relief Society, and was a visiting teacher.
She had been a practical nurse in private homes in the area.
Surviving are one son and three daughters, David R. Turner; Mrs. Maxine
Smith, both of Ogden; Mrs. Clarence (Bertha) Johnson, Shingle Springs,
Calif.; Mrs. Edward (Lorraine) Dombrowski, Sunset; 24 grandchildren; 58
great-grandchildren; eight great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by three sons, one daughter, and four
grandchildren.
Services will be held Saturday at 1 p.m. at Myers Mortuary Chapel in Ogden
with Roger Forsberg officiating.
The family will meet friends at the mortuary on Friday from 6 to 8 p.m.,
and on Saturday from 11:45 a.m. to 12:45 p.m.
Interment, Ogden City Cemetery.

Roy --- Lorenzo Earl Stoker, 72, of 5329 S. 2300 W., died Monday morning
at the Dee Hospital.
Mr. Stoker was born Sept. 16, 1893, in Hooper, a son of Lorenzo and Polly
Adeline Hammon Stoker.
On June 30, 1915, he was married to Besie Lora Brown in the Salt Lake LDS
Temple.
He had been a resident of Roy most of his life. He was a farmer and had
been employed as a brake-man for the Southern Pacific Co. and as an
express clerk for the Railway Express Co.
He was a high priest in the Roy LDS Fifth Ward and had been an instructor
in the high priest group and a Sunday School teacher. He served an LDS
mission to England in 1913. He attended Weber Academy.
Surviving are Mrs. Stoker of San Diego, one son, Rulon Stoker, San Diego;
four daughters, Mrs. Spencer (Armenta) Higley, Hooper; Miss Eva Stoker,
Mrs. Robert (Lois) Herring, Mrs. James (Joan) Rinden, all of San Diego;
nine grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren, three brothers, Jesse Stoker,
Ellis Stoker, both of Ogden; Wells Stoker, Huntsville; four sisters, Mrs.
Albert (Pearl) James, Ogden; Mrs. Fuschia Stoker Jones, Salt Lake City;

John Lewis Thomas, 82, of Kemmerer, Wyo., died Friday night in an Ogden
rest home of natural causes.
Mr. Thomas was born July 4, 1884.
He came to Ogden two years ago. He had been a sheepherder in the Kemmerer,
Wyo., area.
Graveside services were conducted this morning at 10 a.m. in the Ogden
City Cemetery with Bishop Larkin Patterson officiating.
Burial was directed by the Myers Mortuary.

Ogden _ William Craig Thompson, 32, of Ogden, died Sunday, July 8, 1990,
at Porcupine Reservoir of drowning.
He was born Nov. 8, 1957, in Slanton, Tex., a son of George William and
Dorothy Stitzer Thompson.
He was reared and educated in Ogden; attending Ben Lomand High School.
He married Ruth Martin on April 12, 1984, in Ogden.
He worked as a taper in the drywall industry for 16 years. He was
instrumental in starting up channel 30 in Ogden. He was a loving father
and husband.
Mr. Thompson was a member of the LDS Ogden 48th ward.
He enjoyed water skiing, snow skiing, fishing, motor cycling, and cooking.
Surviving are his wife of Ogden; one son and two daughters, Brandon
Thompson, Aubrey Baird Martin, and Auttumn Sprring Thompson, all of Ogden.
Also surviving are his mother, Dorothy Wilson of Ogden;, grandparents, Mr.
And Mrs. Jess Norman of Ogden, and Vivian Thompson of Slanton Tex.; one
brother, Mitchell Gibson of Ogden; one sister, Mrs. Randy (Debbie) Shupe
of Ogden.
He was preceded in death by his father.
Services will be Friday at 11 a.m. at the Leavitt's Chapel of Flowers
Mortuary, 836 36th St
Friends may call at the mortuary Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Friday from
9:45 to 10:45 a.m.

Services for Mrs. Ada Bowman Toone were held Wednesday afternoon in the
Morgan L.D.S. tabernacle, with Bishop C.C. Toone presiding. The singers
were E. Anderson, Charles Francis, Bertha Porter and May Heiner. The
invocation was given by Dean Toone and the benediction by David Eskelson.
Speakers were Alonzo Hopkins, Reed Wild, President W.H. Randall and Bishop
C.C. Toone. Interment was made in the Croyden Cemetery and Bishop Melvin
Toone dedicated the grave.

WASHINGTON TERRACE - Eugene Fred Tracy, 76, died Friday, May 12, 2000 at a
local care center following an extended illness due to cancer.
He was born April 5, 1924 in Marriott, Utah, a son of Thomas Alma and Ruth
Hilton Tracy.
On June 27, 1947, Eugene married Joyce Bronson in Ogden. Their marriage
was solemnized in the Ogden LDS Temple on June 30, 1997.
He was reared and educated in Marriott, graduating from Weber High School.
He was a lifelong resident of the Ogden area.
Eugene was a member of the Washington Terrace 2nd LDS Ward where he was a
High Priest. He also served as a counselor in the Sunday School.
He was a veteran of World War II serving with the U.S. Navy.
He worked for Pacific Fruit Express Railroad for 42 years. Eugene also
worked for Ace Ambulance, Mollerup Moving and Storage, and for the U.S.
Postal Service.
Surviving are his wife, Joyce, of Washington Terrace; two sons and two
daughters, Mark Dale (Trudy) Tracy, and Kevin Eugene (Trini) Tracy, both
of Ogden; Lynette Tracy (Hal) Staker, Clinton; Janeen Tracy (Bob) Kirkman,
Layton; 12 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Eugene was preceded in death by his parents and four brothers, Bud,
Walter, Orville, and LaVon Tracy.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 1 p.m. at Lindquist's Ogden
Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd.
Friends may call at the mortuary on Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Wednesday
11:45 a.m. to 12:45 p.m.
Interment, Lindquist's Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington
Blvd.
The family expresses special thanks to Ogden Regional Medical Center,
Hospice of Utah, Washington Terrace Nursing Center and many dear friends
for the loving care rendered to Eugene.
Dad, your sense of humor and brave positive attitude will be greatly
missed. You've fought a courageous battle - we love you dearly and we'll

WASHINGTON TERRACE --- Thomas Alma Tracy, 78, of 5240 S. 500 W. St., died
last night
of a heart attack near Stoddard while on a fishing trip.
Mr. Tracy was a member of the LDS Terrace Fifth Ward. He was formerly
employed by
the Ogden City Cemetery and Ogden Union Railway and Depot Co. During the
Spanish-
American War he served with the Army.
He was born February 21, 1879 in Ogden, a son of Thomas and Mary Jane
Burdett Tracy.
He had lived in Ogden most of his life and for a short time in Marriott.
Surviving are five sons, Burdett H., Orville T., and Eugene F. Tracy,
Washington Terrace;
Walter A. and LaVone L. Tracy, Cosmopolis, Wash.; 11 grandchildren, two

OGDEN--- Beatrice Edna Nagle Turner, 94, passed away Sunday, August 13,
2000 at Aspen Care Center.
She was born May 17, 1906 in Ottawa, Illinois to William Henry and
Josephine Connolly Nagle. She married Percy W. Turner in 1944. He preceded
her in death on Aug 26, 1950. She was a very active member of St. Joseph's
Catholic Church. She worked very closely with the Victory-Knoll Sisters in
the 1950's and 60's at St. Joseph's. Bea was known as the "Doll Lady" for
her knowledge of dolls at Lowes and Kiddie-Ville Department Stores. After
her retirement, she enjoyed needle-craft and was involved in animal
welfare organizations.
Surviving are one daughter, Jodi (Jeff) Crivello, Ogden; three
granddaughters, Megan, Christia and Devon; three step-daughters, Maxine
Smith, Ogden; Bertha Johnson, Calif.; and Lorraine Dumbrowsky, Ogden. Also
surviving are one sister, Josephine Nagle, Ogden; and two nephews that she
helped raise, Keith (Elizabeth) Nagle, Charleston, SC; and David (Debi)
Nagle, Waterloo, IA.
Funeral services will be held Friday, August 18, 2000 at 10 a.m. at Myers
Mortuary Chapel in Ogden, 845 Washington Blvd., where friends may call on
Thursday from 6-8 p.m. and Friday from 9:30-10 a.m.
Interment: Aultorest Memorial Park.

Clovis John Turner, beloved husband, father, grandfather and great
grandfather, passed away April 6, 2002. He married Lucille Jean Nyland on
April 12, 1953.
John was born in Ogden, Utah August 14, 1924. He returned with his parents
to Canada during the Depression where he spent his youth. John recalled
his boyhood in Canada with fondness.
At the beginning of World War II he returned to the United States to
enlist in the U.S. Navy. John served with distinction in the Pacific
Theater and received the Purple Heart. He attended Weber College, the Art
Colony in Ogden and the Ray School of Art in Chicago. John spent 36 years
putting his artistic talents to use at Hill Air Force Base. During his
federal service at H.A.F.B. he worked as a silk screen illustrator,
technical illustrator and a packaging specialist.
John had "magic hands". Using only a pair of scissors he was able to
create from paper any character, animal, or figure requested. John "The
Sizzer Man", assisted by Lucille, used his special talent at schools,
hospitals, and nursing homes to entertain and thrill hundreds of people.
John also had a special sense of humor, which he was likely to share with
anyone at anytime or place.
John is survived by his wife Lucille and four children. Steven Turner
(Nanette), Debra Taylor (Ted), Kristy James (Brian), and Scott Turner
(Robin), 12 grandchildren, and seven great grandchildren.
Memorial Services will be held Thursday, April 11, 11 a.m., at the Church
of the Good Shepard (Episcopal) at 2374 Grant Ave, Ogden UT. Friends are
encouraged to visit with the family at the church Thursday morning from
9:45 to 10:45 a.m. prior to the services. Funeral directors, Leavitt"s
Mortuary.

NORTH OGDEN--- David Russell Turner, 53, of 321 E. 3100 N., died Saturday,
April 16th, 1988 as the result of an automobile accident.
He was born Aug. 7, 1934, in Ogden, a son of Percy William and Frances R.
Brooks Turner.
On Feb. 12, 1960, he married DaLone Jensen in Brigham City.
He was a member of the North Ogden LDS 7th Ward.
He served in the U.S. Marines during the Korean Conflict.
He was a member of the American Legion and former president of
Toastmasters.
Surviving are his widow of North Ogden, one son and three daughters, Carl
David Turner, North Ogden; Mrs. Lyle (Mechelle "Cricket") Parry,
Farmington; Mrs. Blake (Terri) Hancock, Plain City; Cydney Turner, North
Ogden, three grandchildren.
Also surviving are three sisters, Mrs. Clarence (Bertha) Johnson, Shingle
Springs, Calif.; Mrs. Edward J. (Lorraine) Dombrowski, Sunset; Mrs. Maxine
Smith, Ogden.
Services will be held on Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Myers Mortuary Chapel,
845 Washington Blvd., with Kenneth O. Dean of the North Ogden 7th Ward
bishopric officiating.

Ernest Edward (Hap) Turner, 40, of 3121 Ogden, was dead on arrival at the
Dee Hospital Monday night.
He was born Dec. 13, 1926, in Ogden, a son of Percy William and Frances
Brooks Turner.
He was reared and educated in Ogden.
He was married to Venice Laughter March 3, 1945 at Ogden.
He had lived in Los Angeles, Calif., for a short period of time and had
worked for the W.R. White Co. as a machine operator for many years.
He was a member of the local labor union and had served with the US Navy
in 1942 and the U.S. Air Force in 1943 also.
He was a member of the LDS 27th Ward.
Surviving are his widow, Ogden; three sons, Lynn Edward Turner, Steve
Turner, and Jeffrey R. Turner all of Ogden; two daughters, Mrs. Robert
(Pamela) Weston and Frances Diane Turner, both of Ogden; two
grandchildren; his mother, Mrs. Frances Turner Stoker, Ogden.

Flowers Mortuary with Bishop Dee Hansen of the 27th Ward officiating.

Percy William Turner, 55, of 2863 Harrison, yardmaster for O.U.R. & D.
died at three p.m. Sunday in a local hospital after a heart ailment.
Mr. Turner was born Nov. 13, 1894, in Burmingzee, Eng., a son of William
and Bertha Crane Turner.
He was a member of the Ogden Elks club, Union Pacific Old Timers club, the
Railroad Yardmasters of America and the Order of Railway Conductors.
Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Beatrice N. Turner, Ogden; a daughter, Jodi
Turner, Ogden and the following sons and daughters by a former marriage:
Mrs. Mike (Bertha) Christiaens, Clearfield; Mrs. Martin (Alice) McFarland;

Magna - J. Howard Wadsworth, died April 21 1991, at the age of 80. He was
born November 2, 1910 in Hooper, Weber Co. Utah. The son of William Myron
and Martha Ann Hardy Wadsworth.
Howard married Sarah Evelyn Miller Oct. 22nd. 1929.
Survived by children, Clair and Norma Wadsworth, Leland and Dee Wadsworth,
Margo Wadsworth, all of Magna Utah. nine grandchildren and eight great
grandchildren, and sister Iris Sowell of Hooper. He was preceded in death
by his Sweetheart Evelyn, who died Nov.27 1980, and sons Russell and
Loren.
He is buried at Valley View Memorial Park in Magna.
