MARRIAGE DATABASE
San Juan County Utah Marriage Licenses (1888 to 1931) Database
We are so very pleased to
announce the donation of the "San Juan County Utah Marriage Licenses (1888
to 1931)" database to this website. This is the result of an Eagle Scout
Project under the direction of Jaxon Johnson. Jaxon and his friends have
done a very thorough job of transcribing the marriage license records issued
in San Juan County Utah from 1888 to 1931.
This will be a valuable aid to those researching families in the San Juan
County area of Utah. The hometowns and ages of the bride and groom will
narrow your search and the names of the witnesses will often lead to their
parents or other family members.
We are very honored that Jaxon Johnson allowed us to host this database here
at our San Juan County UTGenWeb site. Thanks so much, Jaxon!
The database listings include the following:
Grooms' names, hometowns, ages
Brides' names, hometowns, ages
Marriage License dates
Marriage dates and places
Those performing the marriages and their titles
Names of the two witnesses
Volumes of the record book and the record numbers
The database is presented in two parts:
Listed alphabetically by bride
Listed alphabetically by groom
Note: Because there are so many fields in the database you may need to
scroll over to see the full listings depending on which browser you are
using. If you don't find your ancestors listed, remember that many in this
county were members of the LDS Church and could have gone north to Manti or
Salt Lake City to be married in an LDS temple. You may be able to find their
information at www.familysearch.org.
This project is offered for personal use and research only. It is not to be
used or reprinted for commercial purposes without written permission.
