John and Eliza Hommar/Hammer migrated from Wood County TX to Trinity Co. about 1900. They were living in Galveston in the home of Eliza's daughter Bella Frances Gilbert-Cummings.
John Hommar was born in 1846 in Sweden and died in Galveston, Texas in 1930.
Eliza's maiden name may have been Martha Elizabeth Hunter and was believed to be a Cherokee Indian. She married at least three times to a man named Marghlin ca 1887, a Francis Gilbert (ca 1892), and in 1895 to John Hommar. Besides her daughter Bella (born 1893) she had Alice M. Marghlin born 1888.
Alice was married twice-to a Yarber and had a son Forest born in 1903. She married Clarence Gillie and had sons Virgil born 1903 and Archie born 1908.
