The Annie Mae Adams and Will Kirk Family

Annie
Mae Adams was born 19 July 1901 in Hopkins Co., Texas. She was the next to oldest child of nine surviving children born to Albert
Sidney Adams and Emma Phillips. She died 16 Oct. 1984.
The Adams family moved to Trinity County after 1917 settling near Alabama
Creek. She taught school at Alabama Creek School in the 1921-1922 school year.
She married Willie Robert Kirk on 21 Dec 1921 by Rev. Teer.
Willie Robert Kirk was born 12 Dec 1898 in Hopkins Co., Texas, the third
surviving child born to Carolinas Boyd Kirk and Ophelia Smith. Will Kirk's
father died when he was 3-4 years old and his mother married H.G. Fox.
The
Fox family moved to Trinity County sometime after 1910. H.G. & Ophelia Fox and several of the
children are buried at Mt. Zion Cemetery.
Will and Annie moved to Angelina County, settling at Burke where they
farmed. Will Kirk played the fiddle for dances around Trinity and Angelina
counties. They had six children: 4 girls and 2 boys. Will died 12 April
1940. Both are buried at Ryan's Chapel at Diboll, Texas.
