Harold Wilson, 87, of Andrews, will be at 11:00 a.m. Saturday,
February 3, 2007, at Bethel Baptist Church in Brownfield with Rev.
Jackie Matlock officiating. Interment will be in Terry County
Memorial Cemetery in Brownfield under the direction of Brownfield
Funeral Home. Harold passed away Wed. January 31, 2007, in Big Spring. He was born December 13, 1919, in Madisonville, TN., to Harrison and Claudia Wilson and moved with his family from TN to Glenrose, TX. He graduated from Glenrose High School in 1936. He then moved to Brownfield where he worked for Portwood and Elliot Ford dealership as Service Manager. He married Vivian Day January 22, 1941. Harold was a WWII Army Veteran serving in France. After the War, he moved to Andrews and worked for Johnny Smith Ford for 30 years. He married Darlene Turner in 1975. She preceded him in death in 1998. While working and on into retirement, he enjoyed farming, maintaining a large vegetable garden, and was part of the Texas State Guard and the Buffalo Trail Council Boy Scouts. He spent the last few years at the VA Hospital in Big Spring. In addition to his wife, he is also preceded in death by 4 brothers and 3 sisters. He was a member of Andrews Calvary Baptist Church. He is survived by 2 sons, Harold D. Wilson and wife Linda of Odessa and Terry L. Wilson and wife Shena of Midland; 6 Grandchildren and 2 Great Grandchildren. Brownfield News |
