Williams, 82, of Brownfield, passed away Wednesday, Feb. 11, 2009,
in Brownfield. Services were held Saturday, Feb. 14, at the Terry
County Memorial Cemetery with Rev. Steve Carter officiating. Joyce was born on Oct. 9, 1926, in Cooper to Leonard and Maxine Holt. She attended schools and graduated from Coolidge High School in Coolidge, Ariz. She then received an Associate's degree in arts and a Bachelor's degree in education. She married John Allan Williams on June 30, 1946, in Levelland. They moved to Brownfield in 1962 where Joyce taught fourth and fifth grade. She then taught in Union until her retirement in 1990. She was a member of the Eastern Stars where she was the Worthy Matron and a member of Calvary Baptist Church. Joyce is survived by her husband John Allan Williams of Brownfield; her daughter, Deborah Williams Marsh and her husband Carl of Brownfield; three grandchildren; six great grandchildren and her sister Margie Winters of Coolidge, Ariz.
