Services for Ann Willis, 66, of Brownfield will be 2 p.m. Thursday, October 28, 2010, at the First Baptist Church with Dr. Carl Moman officiating. Burial will be in Terry County Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Brownfield Funeral Home.   The family will receive visitors from 6-7 p.m. Wednesday at the Funeral Home.

Ann passed away Sunday, October 24, 2010, in a Lubbock Hospital.    She was born June 17, 1944, in Brownfield to D. O. "Shorty" and Jean Baggett Neal and graduated from Brownfield High School in 1962. She married Kenneth Willis on February 29, 1964, in Brownfield.

Ann worked for several places in Brownfield: The Brownfield News, Sears, Brownfield General Hospital and for A.H. Daniell, MD. In 1970, Ann graduated from Isbell's Beauty School and worked as a beautician at Magic Mirror for Betty Murphy. Then, on July 22, 1974, she began working for County Clerk, Frank Gray, as a deputy. When Frank retired Ann was appointed the first woman County Clerk in 1985.

Ann was a member of the Noon Lions where she served as the first woman president of that club. She was named Terry County Citizen of the Year in 1994 and served as Brownfield Chamber of Commerce President in 1997 and 1998. She was also president of the Children's Protective Services Board, having served on that board for more than 20 years.

Ann is preceded in death by her father.  She is survived by her husband, Kenneth; a son, Kevin Willis; a daughter, Kendra Kevil; four grandchildren, Alexis Willis, Kylen Willis, Korey Kevil and Kaley Kevil; her mother, Jean Neal, all of Brownfield; two brothers, Dwayne Neal of Brownfield and Allen Neal and wife Lorene of Carlsbad, Calif.
