Services for Charles Wilks, 70, of Brownfield will be 11:00 a.m., Thursday, September 13, 2007, at Calvary Baptist Church with Rev. Steve Carter officiating. Burial will be in Terry County Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Brownfield Funeral Home.

Charles passed away Tues., Sept. 11, 2007, at his home in Brownfield. He was born Nov. 19, 1936, in Seligman, Missouri, to Leonard and Lorene Wilks and moved to Brownfield with his parents in 1942. He graduated from Brownfield High School in 1954, then married Melvia Posey in Jan. 1958. She preceded him in death in Jan. of 1969. He then married Brenda Helms Barker, July 28, 1975, in Tacoma, Washington. Charles worked and managed NAPA Auto Parts in Brownfield for over 40 years. He was an avid hunter, old car collector and Nifty Fifty's Car Club member. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. He is also preceded in death by his parents and a son, Michael Barker, in 1988.

He is survived by his wife Brenda of Brownfield; 3 Daughters, Becky Carroll and her husband Dino of Lubbock, Kaye Wagner and her husband Butch of Brownfield, Faye Burns and her husband Vincent of Brownfield; 2 Sons, Jackie Wilks and his wife Tammy of Big Spring and David Barker and his wife LaDonna of Lubbock; 12 Grandchildren and 10 Great Grandchildren.
