Jackson Hubbard White, 83, went to be with the Lord on March 22, 2012, in Brownfield. He was born on October 29, 1928, in Richmond, VA to Ashton and Josephine White and graduated from the University of Virginia with a Masters Degree in Science.

Jackson married Edwina Lowe on April 24, 1992, in Brownfield. He was a happy, peaceful person with a great sense of humor. He loved to laugh and joke with everyone and never met a stranger (as all local restaurants can testify). Jackson loved animals He was a devoted husband and father. After graduating from the University of Virginia he contracted Polio. On his crutches Jackson volunteered as a teacher in Laos for three years with the forerunner of the Peace Corps. He taught science at Union School for fourteen years and enjoyed visiting with former students. He was a past president of the Lion's Club and was a member of the First Christian Church in Brownfield.

Jackson is survived by his wife, Edwina of Brownfield; 2 daughters, Pamela Dawson and husband Charles of Clyde and Juliann White of Roanoke, VA; 2 granddaughters, Deanna and Shelbie Dawson of Clyde.
