Bertha Pauline West, 83, of Lubbock will be at 2 pm, Thursday, March
27, 2008, at Meadow First Baptist Church with Rev. Ken McClung
officiating. Burial will be in Terry County Memorial Cemetery under
the direction of Brownfield Funeral Home. Pauline passed away Friday, March 21, 2008, in Lubbock. She was born July 12, 1924, to T. F. and Lena Hudson Pharries Yates in Milam County, Texas. She was raised in Central Texas. She married Melvern West in September 1941 in Rosebud, Texas. He preceded her in death February 16, 1995. They moved to Muleshoe in 1961 and to Tokio Community in Yoakum County in 1989. Pauline loved sewing, art and being with her family. She was a loving wife and mother who loved her children and grandchildren very much. She was a member of the Longview Baptist Church in Bailey County where she taught Sunday school. Pauline is survived by three daughters - Paula Phillips of Lubbock, Donna Moore of Lubbock, Debbie Parmer and her husband David of Texico; four sons - Melvin West and his wife Margie of Meadow, Garry West of Plains, Danny West and his wife Jackie of Dumas and Byron West and his wife Tresa of Brownfield; 19 grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren; two brothers - Leo Yates of Cameron and James Yates of Waco; two sisters - Pearl Mayor of Cameron and May Santos of Harker Heights.
