                                    Elma Davis Webb, well-known and long time resident of Yoakum County,
                                    died in his sleep at his home in Denver City early Sunday morning, May 10,
                                    1953.

                                    Funeral services were conducted at the First Baptist Church in Denver City
                                    Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock.   Rev. L. L. Trott, pastor of the church,
                                    assisted by Father Frances, Seymour, read services.   Interment was at
                                    Terry County Memorial Cemetery in Brownfield.   Mr. Webb had been in 
                                    failing health for some time.

                                    He was born in Limestone county, Texas, July 12, 1893, and married Lena Fay
                                    McCurdy, Haskell, in 1922.    He is survived by the widow; one son, Billy Rex
                                    Webb, and a brother, Alton Webb, Brownfield.    He was preceded in death by a
                                    son, Woodrow Webb, in 1947.

                                    Mr. and Mrs. Webb moved to Yoakum county in 1933 where they resided on a
                                    farm three miles southwest of Plains until 1937.   They operated a drug store at
                                    Plains for two years after leaving the farm and moved to Denver City in 1939 where
                                    they established a drug store which was later sold.   More recently they built the
                                    La Vista Courts which they were operating at the time of Mr. Webb's passing.

                                    Pallbearers were L. P. Bone, W. I. Boyd, J. E. Herring, Marvin Post, Harry Reynolds
                                    and O. L. Cook.   Among the honorary pallbearers were Murphy Luna, Joe Webber,
                                    Til W. Read, R. N. McGinty and other old Plains neighbors and friends.
