Services for Dean Watson (Willadean Beatrice Kirby Watson), 86, of Lubbock will be held at Meadow Baptist Church on Monday, July 11, 2011, at 10:00 A.M. with Pastor Les Lewis officiating. Burial will be in Meadow Cemetery under the direction of Brownfield Funeral Home.   The family will receive visitors from 6-8, Sunday at the funeral home.
 
Dean passed away Thursday, June 7, 2011, in Lubbock. She was born August 23, 1924, in Hardeman County to George and Blanche Kirby. She grew up with six siblings. Dean attended Williams High School in Quanah, TX. As a young woman she worked at the Pantex plant in Amarillo during the early days of WWII. She married H. O. Watson on December 22, 1945, in Quanah. They moved to West Texas in 1949. Dean loved quilting, needlework and embroidering. She worked as a waitress and for the Brownwood ISD Cafeteria. She is also a member of Meadow Baptist Church.
 
Dean is preceded in death by her husband, parents, three brothers, three sisters and a great granddaughter, Adisyn Calfin.
 
She is survived by two daughters, Charlotte (Wade) Gerner of Slaton and Marci Beasley and husband Mike of Lubbock; a son, David Watson and wife Karen of Arlington, WA; honorary son, Gary Ratliff and wife Billie Jo, grandchildren, Kimberly Hunter and Chad Watson of Anchorage, AK; Jennifer Calfin, Tonya and Michael LaVere, Courtney and Lance Wilson, all of Lubbock, Abby and Aaron Cave, Todd and Jaclyn Christianson of Arlington, WA. great grandchildren, Brittany Hunter, Derek NcNutt, Elisabeth and Colby Lavere, Daxx and Dallan Calfin, Allie and Cooper Wilson, great-great grandchildren, Jayda and Jersey Hunter and Christian, Henry and Lars Cave.
 
A special thank you is extended to the staff at Lakeside Rehabilitation and Care Center and to the staff at Interim Hospice Care.
