Services for Carl Alvie Watkins, 89, of Wellman, were held Monday, June 5,
in Brownfield Funeral Home Memorial Chapel with Homer Jones officiating.
Burial was in Terry County Memorial Cemetery.
Mr. Watkins died Friday, June 2, 2006, in Austin. He was born Sept
16, 1916,
in Connerville, Okla., and was married to Edith Mae Bennett on June 9, 1941,
in Gatesville. He was employed as a heavy machine
operator for Terry County
until his retirement in 1988.
He is survived by his wife; one daughter, Barbara Matteson of Austin, one son,
Clyde and his wife, Peggy, of Emory; one grandson, Carl Matteson and his wife,
Shawna, of Austin. He is also survived by two brothers: Burl
of Odessa and
Jack of Wellman; and by one sister, Pauline Griner, of Tomball.
