Services for Joyce McKenzie Warden, 80, of Brownfield will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday October 1, 2010, at Brownfield Funeral Home Chapel with Bob Reynolds officiating. Burial will be at Terry County Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Brownfield Funeral Home.

Joyce McKenzie Warden went to be with the Lord on Monday, September 27, 2010, in Brownfield, Texas. She was born October 28, 1929, in Shawnee, Oklahoma, to R. L. McKenzie, Sr. and Myrtle Ethel Ticer McKenzie. She and her family moved to West Texas to the Lahey area, where she spent her early years growing up. Her family later moved to Brownfield where she lived and went to school until graduating. Joyce worked at the Brownfield State Bank for many years, and loved her job. She was a member of the Brownfield Church of Christ.

Joyce married Victor Raymond (Pokey) Warden on August 16, 1947, in Brownfield. They were married for 57 years. Ray preceded her in death on November 5, 2004. She was also preceded in death by a sister, Leta Zae McKenzie Wiseman; and a brother, R. L. McKenzie, Jr.

Joyce is survived by a son, Donnie Ray Warden, of Brownfield and a daughter, DeAnn Warden Smyers, of Houston. She is also survived by 3 grandchildren, Toby Ray Warden and Traci Lee Warden both of Lubbock and Dustin Allen Smyers of Houston. Joyce was also survived by 1 great-granddaughter, Mallery Lynne Warden of Amarillo and soon to arrive great-grandson.    Joyce was a wonderful mother and grandmother. She will be dearly missed by family and friends.
