Gavino Vasquez, Jr.

Rosary for Gavino Vasquez, Jr., 73, of Brownfield was held Sunday, Oct. 8,
in Mark A. Jones Funeral Chapel. Funeral mass was held Monday,
Oct. 9 at 10:00 a.m., in St. Anthony's Catholic Church with Father
Gerald Leatham officiating.
Mr. Vasquez, died Thursday, Oct. 5, 2006 in Brownfield. He was born
Oct 14, 1932 in Comstock to Gavino, Sr. and Maria Vasquez. He attended
school in Comstock and was married to Adelina Delarosa on Oct. 29, 1955
in Lovington, N.M. He moved to Brownfield in 1964.
He was survived by one son---Gavino, III, and his wife---Cynthia of Brownfield
and two daughters---Dora Navarro and Maria Collins and her husband---Ron,
all of Brownfield. Mr. Vasquez is also survived by one
brother---Armando of
Brownfield and by four sisters---Erlinda Aguilar and Maria Vasquez, both of
Goodland, Kans. ; Elvira Aleman of Lamar, Colo. and Consuelo Gonzales of
Grand Junction, Colo., and by five grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
Mr. Vasquez was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, one brother---Jose
and one sister---Guadalupe Pena.
