Valdonado, 25, passed away Monday, November 9, 2009, in Lubbock. Rosary was held Nov. 11 and 12 at Mark A. Jones Memorial Chapel in Brownfield. Funeral Service was held Nov. 13 at St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Brownfield with Father Gerald Leatham officiating. Personal services were under the direction of Mark A. Jones Funeral Directors of Brownfield. Samson was born June 1, 1984, in Lubbock to Daniel Hernandez and Maria Martinez. He attended Brownfield schools and lived in Brownfield his whole life. His family remembers him as a musician and a song writer. Samson was a very unique person, who was always happy and generous. He was Catholic. He is survived by his wife, Melissa Valdonado of Brownfield; his parents, Hisa and Mary Valdonado of Brownfield; paternal grandfather, Fidencio Hernandez of Ropesville; maternal grandfather, Florentino Martinez of Brownfield; legal paternal grandfather, Seferino Valdonado of Karnes City; his partner, Jennifer Hodges of Brownfield; one son, Jeremiah Hernandez of Cheyenne, Wyo.; step-daughters Alissandra Luna and Lilliana Luna of Brownfield, Dayna, Danielle, Diamond, Debra, and Devyn Martinez, all of Brownfield; two brothers: Matthew Valdonado and Isaiah Valdonado, both of Brownfield; one sister, Vanessa Valdonado of Brownfield; and one niece, Mikah Valdonado of Brownfield. He is preceded in death by paternal grandmother, Elodia Hernandez; maternal grandmother, Concepcion Martinez; legal paternal great-grandmother, Ricarda Bazan; paternal great-grandparents, Simon and Margarita Guttirrez; and maternal great-grandparents, Roman and Lina Cruz.
