Graveside services for Ruby Lawson Travis, 94, of McKinney, formerly of
Brownfield,
were held Wednesday, July 5, 2006, at Terry County Memorial Cemetery with
Rev. Jerry Payne officiating.
She died Monday, July 3, 2006, in McKinney. She was born March 15,
1912, in Arkansas
to E O. and Susie Johnson and was married to O. L. Travis on Dec. 6, 1933, in
Brownfield.
He died on Jan. 5, 1964. She moved to McKinney in 1986 to live with her
daughter.
She is survived by three sons--Robert of Brownfield, Bill of Springtown and John
of Lakeland, Fla. and two daughters--Lilly Skiles of Farmersville and
Dorothy Travis of McKinney.
She is also survived by two brothers--Raymond and Riley Johnson and two sisters:
Nellie Smith and Ruth Davis and by five grandchildren and five
great-grandchildren.
