Thames, 99, of Lubbock and formerly of Brownfield, passed into the
loving arms of her Lord and Savior on Sunday morning, Feb. 7, 2010,
in Lubbock, Texas. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m., Thursday, Feb. 11, 2010, at First Christian Church in Brownfield, Texas, with Dr. Don Garnett officiating. Interment will follow at Terry County Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Brownfield Funeral Home. Kathleen was born on Dec. 26, 1910, to E.H. and Mary Williams Crocker in Van Alstyne, Texas. She married Howard Thames in Feb. of 1932 in Brownfield. He preceded her in death in 1986. Also preceding her in death were her parents; four brothers; three sisters; and her daughter, Elva Jaynes. Kathleen spent a 50-year career in nursing in Brownfield and in Big Spring, Texas. She was a member of First Christian Church in Brownfield. Kathleen is survived by her son, Lynn Thames and wife Sandra of Lubbock; grandchildren, Dr. Terry Thames of Plano, Kenda Thames of Lubbock, Dr. Suanne Schafer of San Antonio and Brant Schafer of Smithville; and four great-grandchildren.
