Obituary for Thelma Jean Tankersley

Graveside services for Thelma Jean Tankersley, 83, of Garland, formerly of Terry County, were held Wednesday, Feb. 21, at the Terry County Memorial Cemetery with Rev. Charles Addington officiating.

Mrs. Tankersley died Sunday, Feb. 18, 2007, in Garland. She was born Dec. 11, 1923, in Hall County to Jim and Julia Moore. She moved with her family to Terry County in 1936. She was married to E.S. 'Jiggs' Tankersley on March 29, 1946. He died on Sept. 8, 1995.

Mrs. Tankersley was a member of the First United Methodist Church.

She was preceded in death by one daughter---Janet Sue Tankersley on Feb. 20, 1990.

She is survived by one son---James Roger 'Jigger' Tankersley of Garland; one brother---Joe B. Moore of Denton and three sisters---Neve Kissenger of McAllen, Stella Sue Yandell of Wichita Falls, and Kay Cox of San Angelo. She is also survived by three grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
