Obituary for Billy M. Suggs

Billy M. Suggs, Sr, 87, of Brownfield, passed away on Saturday, February 6, 2010.

Services will be at 2 p.m., Wednesday, Feb 10th, at Immanuel Baptist Church with Rev. Jerry Payne officiating. Burial will be at Terry County Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Brownfield Funeral Home.

Billy was born December 26, 1922, to Mr. and Mrs. Henry Lee Suggs. He married Peggy Russell on September 11, 1952, in Longview. She preceded him in death on March 12, 1998. Billy and Peggy moved to Brownfield in 1955. He worked for Ozark-Mahoning for 28 years until retiring in 1997. He was a WWII Army Veteran. He was also a member of the VFW and Immanuel Baptist Church. Billy was also preceded in death by two sisters and three brothers.

Billy is survived by a son, Billy Suggs, Jr. of Lubbock; a daughter, Patricia Thompson of Slaton; five grandchildren, Melissa Henry, Brady Suggs, Justin, Dustin and Erin Thompson and three great grandchildren; two brothers, Henry Lee Suggs and Albert Suggs; and a special friend, Jo Sharpe of Lubbock.
