Steen, 87, of Brownfield passed away on Saturday, June 12, 2010, in
Lubbock. Services will be at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, June 15, 2010, at
Brownfield Church of Christ with Bob Reynolds and Delbert Bradley
officiating. Interment will follow at Terry County Memorial Cemetery
under the direction of Brownfield Funeral Home. She was born on October 8, 1922, in Terry County to Samuel Thomas & Nannie Murphy and attended schools in Brownfield. Dorothy married Conley Clarence Steen on March 24, 1940, in Brownfield. He preceded her in death on October 22, 1996. She was also preceded in death by her parents, 2 brothers, Duane and Dean Murphy, and her sister, Juanita Vineyard. Dorothy was a member of Brownfield Church of Christ. She was a loving mother and grandmother. Her children and grandchildren were her life. Dorothy is survived by 3 daughters, Frances Rimer and Veneta Nettles of Brownfield and Sheralyn Ross and her husband Michael of Nogal, NM; a son, Duane Steen of Mt. Vernon, TX; 11 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren.
