Guadalupe "Lupe" Barrera Soto, 63, of Levelland died Sunday, August 1, 2010, in Levelland. Funeral services were held at 1 p.m., Wednesday, August 4 at Bethel Fellowship Church in Levelland with Pastor Jeremy Martinez officiating. Interment followed in Brownfield Cemetery.

A prayer service was held Tuesday night at Head Duarte Funeral Home Chapel.

Lupe was born to Albino and Francisa Barrera on April 12, 1947, in Shallowater. She married Bicente Soto Jr. September 13, 1994, in Brownfield. She held a degree in Theology and was a licensed, ordained minister.

She was a homemaker and worked as a housekeeper for various clients. Her passion was to spend quality time with her family and she loved to sing.

She is preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Julia Rodriquez and Fidencia Maya and a brother, Albino Barrera Jr.

She leaves to cherish her memory her husband; brothers, Juan Barrera and his wife Juana of Levelland and Esteban Barrera and his wife Julie of Ropestow; sisters, Frances and her husband Ovidio Lozano of Decatur and Maria Barrera of Levelland.
