Services for Helen I. Smith, 71, of Brownfield were held Wednesday, Aug. 2,
in the Brownfield Funeral Home Memorial Chapel with Derek McNamara officiating.
Cremation was by Combest-Miller Crematory Services of Floydada.
Smith died Wednesday, July 26, 2006, in Brownfield. She was born
Feb. 10, 1935,
in Hilton, Texas to F. A. 'Buck' and Mary Rogers. She moved to Brownfield at an
early age and graduated from Wellman High School in 1952.
She had lived in San Angelo and Denton prior to returning to Brownfield.
She retired from GTE. She was a member of the Tahoka Road Church of Christ.
She is survived by two sons, Mike of Lubbock and Richard of Silver Springs,
Nev.;
one brother, John Rogers of Lubbock; one sister, Beverly Jenkins and
her husband Gerald of Ennis and her mother, Mary Rogers of Brownfield.
She was preceded in death by one son, Ricky Smith.
