services for Mrs. Avis Charlene "Red" Shurley, 59, of Bandera who
died Tuesday, Jan. 3, 1995, at her residence, will be held Friday in
Brownfield. Born June 4, 1935, in Brownfield, Mrs.
Shurley had been a resident of Bandera for 16 years. She was a homemaker and a member of the Baptist church and the VFW Post in Castroville. On Dec 18, 1976, she married David Derry Shurley in Sonora. He preceded her in death in 1993. Survivors include her parents, Mr. and Mrs. C. D. Reid, Jr., of Brownfield; two daughters and sons-in-law, Vicki Rosell and Harry Gartrell of Carlsbad, California, and Debbie and Lawson Farrar of Brownfield; a son, Rick Herring, of Nacogdoches; a sister, Melba Shannon of Odessa; a brother, Glen Reid, of Brownfield; and three grandchildren, Kasey & Kassadie Farrar, both of Brownfield, and Ricky Joe Herring of Nacogdoches. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society. Grimes Funeral Chapel in Bandera is in charge of arrangments. Kerrville Daily Times - January 5, 1995 |
