Mae Jean Seaton, 83, of Brownfield went home to be with her Lord on Sunday, January 24, 2010, at her home.  

Services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, January 26, at First Baptist Church with Rev. Chris Seaton and Rev. Lynn Dill officiating.  Burial was in Terry County Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Brownfield Funeral Home.

Jean was born October 26, 1926, in the Foster Community to Clay and Mary Bevers. She graduated from Wellman High School in 1945 and attended Texas Tech University.   She married Ira Seaton on September 10, 1947, in Wellman.

Jean taught school in Union, Texas, for two years and in 1952 began working for Brownfield State Bank, from where she retired in 1995.  She was known as a woman of prayer and was a member of Abundant Harvest Community Church.  

She was preceded in death by her parents and four brothers.

Jean is survived by her husband, Ira Seaton; one son, Chris Seaton and his wife Lisa of Brownfield; one brother, Joe Bevers of Roswell, N.M.; one sister, Margaret Hartman of Brownfield; and a host of nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Abundant Harvest Community Church Mission Fund, 101 S. 4th, Brownfield, TX 79316.
