Seferino Grimaldo Salas, Jr., 60, of Brownfield were held Tuesday,
Oct. 28, at Primera Iglesia Bautista Church with Rev. Plutarco
Garcia officiating. Burial followed in Brownfield Cemetery under the
direction of Brownfield Funeral Home. Seferino passed away Monday, Oct. 27, 2008, in Lubbock. He was born Feb. 27, 1948, in Brownfield to Seferino G. and Ana Maria Salas. His father preceded him in death in 1984. On Feb 14, 1986, he married Gloria Villarreal in Brownfield. He worked as a pipeline foreman in the oilfields for 18 years until retiring and was a member of Primera Iglesia Bautista Church. Seferino is survived by his wife Gloria of Brownfield; three daughters, Beatrice Salas, Monica Ruiz and her husband Roger and Tina Maria Salas, all of Brownfield; a step-daughter, Victoria Sanchez and her husband Amador of Houston; a son, Seferino Salas, III of Lubbock; a stepson, Marcelo V. Gutierrez of Seattle, Wash.; 13 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; his mother, Ana Maria Salas of Brownfield; two brothers, Frank Cervantes of Brownfield and Jesse Salas of Lubbock; nine sisters, Mary Fonseca and her husband Martin of Brownfield, Juana Alejandro and her husband Jesse of Brownfield, Estefana Martinez and her husband Joe of Lubbock, Dionicia Flores and her husband Jesse of Lubbock, Julie Georgio and her husband Pat of Michigan, Sylvia Renteria and her husband Rick of Lubbock, Sandra Garcia and her husband Eli of Lubbock, Helen Castaneda and her husband Sammy of Lubbock and Ramona Salas of Lubbock.
