Obituary for Gregoria Salas

Services for Gregoria Salas, 101, of Brownfield will be at 10am, Monday, August 8, 2011, at St. Anthony's Catholic Church with Father Gerald Leatham officiating. Burial will be in Brownfield Cemetery under the direction of Brownfield Funeral Home.

Gregoria passed away Friday, August 5, 2011, at her home in Brownfield. She was born January 1, 1910, in Caldwell County to Adolfo and Carmelita Salinas. Gregoria married Luis Salas in 1927. He preceded her in death in 1977. They moved to Brownfield in 1929. She was a member of St. Anthony's Catholic Church.

She is also preceded in death by 4 sisters and a brother.

Gregoria is survived by 3 sons, Manuel, Luis, Jr. and Roberto, all of Brownfield; 6 daughters, Pauline Flores of Michigan, Mary Pauda, Dolores DeLeon, Cipriana Rodriquez, Hortencia Arellano and Georgia Mansmith all of Brownfield; 44 grandchildren and 94 great grandchildren; family extending to the 6th generation with surmountable numbers.

Gregoria was the catalyst that led her family with compassion, grace, strength, humility and an unconditional love for her children and grandchildren. Gregoria attributed her life's longevity to the devotion of her family and her faith in God.
