Obituary for Ruth Rowden

Services for Ruth Rowden, 89, of Wellman will be at 11 a.m., Monday, Feb. 11, at Calvary Baptist Church with Rev. Steve Carter officiating and Rev. Glen Smith assisting.    Burial will be in Terry County Memorial Cemetery.

Mrs. Rowden died Friday, Feb. 8, 2008, in Brownfield.    She was born June 16, 1918, in Tye and moved with her parents to Brownfield in 1923. She attended Union and Brownfield Schools.   She married R.J. Rowden, October 1, 1938, in Tahoka.

Mrs. Rowden was a member of Wellman PTA, Home Demonstration Club, Women's Missionary Union and a member of Calvary Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by a sister--Irma Lee Higgins and a brother--Everett Brazelton.    She is survived by her husband--R.J. of Wellman; one son--Lewayne Rowden and his wife--Liz of Wellman and one daughter--Joy Osborn and her husband--Steve of Big Spring.

Mrs. Rowden is also survived by seven grandchildren--J Rowden and his wife--Stacy of Brownfield, Scott Rowden and his wife--Julie of Lubbock, Wade Rowden and his wife--Shanna of Lubbock, Sean Rowden and his wife--Karolen of Lubbock, Kristi Coleman and her husband--Jason of Ropesville, Jenny Breitschopf and her husband--Travis of Forsan and Kelli Osborn of Lubbock.    She is also survived by 14 great grandchildren; two sisters--Elizabeth Wilson of Midland and Billie Martin of Royse City and a caregiver--Sonya "Cookie" Harrell.

The family will have visitation from 4-6 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 10 at Brownfield Funeral Home.
