Services for Avis Christine Reid, 95, of Brownfield will be held at 2pm, Friday, March 23, 2012, at Friendship Primitive Baptist Church with Rev. Wayne Venable and Rev. Ronnie Hedges officiating. Burial will be in Terry County Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Brownfield Funeral Home.

There will be a family visitation from 6-8pm Thursday at the Funeral Home.

Christine passed away Thursday, March 22, 2012, in Brownfield. She was born June 5, 1916, to Charlie and Ethel Vest in Fisher County and moved to Brownfield in 1922. Christine married Charles Reid on September 22, 1933, in Lovington, NM. He preceded her in death on October 7, 1995. She is also preceded in death by 2 daughters, Avis Shurley and Melba Shannon; a granddaughter, Charlotte Summers; 5 brothers and her parents. She was a member of Fellowship Primitive Baptist Church.

Christine is survived by a son, Glen Reid and wife JoAnne of Brownfield; a sister Ozel Rowland of Nevada; 11 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; 4 great-great grandchildren.
