Kathleen Perry Pickett

Services for Kathleen Perry Pickett, 87, of Brownfield were held Monday,
Sept. 4, in Calvary Baptist Church with Rev. Steve Carter officiating.
Burial was in
Terry County Memorial Cemetery.
She was born March 8, 1919 in Tye and was married to Alvis T. Pickett on
May 23, 1937 in Brownfield. She moved to Brownfield with her family
in 1924
and graduated from Brownfield High School in 1937. She was a
deaconess and
active member of the First Presbyterian Church.
She was an adult leader of the Cub Scouts, 4-H, PTA and Band Parents. She also
had been employed as a store clerk, managed a shoe store, and was employed as
a bookkeeper, seamstress and home service caretaker. She retired in 1980. She
served
as Noble Grand for the Brownfield Rebakah Lodge #56 in 1990-91.She also raised
two grandchildren.
She is survived by two sons---Herbie and his wife--Sharon and Freddie, all of
Brownfield;
one sister---Mabel Warren of Rotan and by five grandchildren. She was
preceded in death
by her husband; two sisters---Lena Bryant and Lavern White; one daughter in
law---Elizabeth
Pickett and one brother---David Perry. Family members served as
pallbearers.
