Obituary for Filomena Perez

Filomena Perez, age 81 went to be with the Lord on Friday, August 31, 2012, in Brownfield. Funeral Services for Mrs. Perez will be 10:00 A.M., Tuesday, September 4, 2012, at Mark A Jones Memorial Chapel with Chaplain Bill Starcher officiating. Personal services have been entrusted to Mark A Jones Funeral Directors of Brownfield.

Mrs. Perez was born July 5, 1931, to Jose and Carlota Martinez in Alice, Texas. Filomena moved back to the Brownfield area in 2012 from Pflugerville, Texas where she worked as a Nurses aid at the Pflugerville Nursing home.

Filomena is remembered by her family as a humble person who loved and cared for everyone. Emma was a very hard worker and a very giving person. She enjoyed watching Spanish soaps on television and collecting butterflies. She loved to cook and knit in her free time.

Those left to cherish her memories are Husband: Herberto G. Perez of the home; 4 Sons: Ruben Rivera of Austin, Joe Lopez and wife Nora and Rudy San Miguel both of Corpus Christi and Herbert Perez, Jr. and wife Elizabeth of Flower Mound; 2 Daughters: Rosa Benitez of Austin and Norma Perez of Pflugerville; 1 Brother: Frank Martinez of Corpus Christi and 5 Sisters: Vicky Segura, Rosa Luis and Aucencia Davila all of Corpus Christi, Blanche Trissel of San Antonio and Lupe Garcia of Abernathy.

She also leaves behind 11 Grandchildren and 7 Great-Grandchildren.

Mrs. Perez is preceded in death by her parents, 2 Sons, 1 Daughter, 2 Brothers and 1 Sister.
