Jr., age 50 passed away Wednesday, July 9, 2008, in Lubbock. A rosary was prayed Friday evening at Mark A. Jones Memorial Chapel in Brownfield. The funeral mass was held Saturday, July 12, at St. Anthony's Catholic Church with Deacon Jose Enrique Jimenez officiating. Burial followed in Brownfield Cemetery. Mr. Pena was born Sept. 4, 1957, in Littlefield to Adan and Eva Pena. He attended school in Slaton. He moved from Slaton to Plainview and then to Brownfield in 1986. His family remembers him as a hard-working man who loved his children very much. He would help anyone in need whether he knew them or not. He enjoyed cutting the grass for many of the elderly in Brownfield. He was a Catholic. Those left to cherish his memories are his parents, Adan Pena Sr. and his wife Louisa of Lubbock; four sons, Ben Zavala of Plainview, Jacob Garcia and Brandon Zavala, both of Lubbock and Justin Tyler Pena of Brownfield; two daughters, Tina Pena Elizondo of Yoakum and Liza Pena of Plainview; his fiance, Reyna Vasquez of Brownfield; two brothers, Abel Pena of Salina, Kansas and Richard Rodriquez of Kyle and one sister, Ann Ryden of Austin. He also leaves 10 grandchildren, five nieces and four nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother in 2007. Personal services are being provided by Mark A. Jones Funeral Directors of Brownfield.
