North, 91, of Brownfield, passed away Wednesday, May 26, 2010, at
Covenant Medical Center in Lubbock. She donated
her body to the Texas Tech Health Science Center. A memorial service will be held June 19, 2010, at the Holiday Inn Express. Friends and family will gather to share their fondest memories of Bea. Beatrice was born December 19, 1918, in Mimbres, N.M., to R.B. and Francis Perry. She moved to Brownfield at an early age and graduated from Brownfield High School. Beatrice married Barny (Sparky) North on June 17, 1950. He preceded her in death in 1960. She worked for Broadway Cleaners for 25 years, retired and returned to work for The Brownfield News. Before she lost her eyesight she was an avid reader, quilter and gardener. She was preceded in death by her sisters, Ganeva and Doris; one brother, Floyd Perry; her parents; husband; and a great-granddaughter, Emily Schenk. Those left to mourn Beatrice are her daughter, Linda North Moore and Ron Moore; granddaughter, Sandi and Cody Pilgrim; grandson, Jeremy and Amanda Foster; daughters Billy and Billy Coleman of St. George, Utah, Coda and Jon Hampton of Wiley, Bernice Harrison of Walters, Okla.; sons, James and Rosa Gunn of Centerville, Bernard and Vicki of Plano; brothers, Gerald and Cloe Marion Perry, Dick and Juanita Perry; 14 other grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren.
