Ladell Nelson

Services for Ladell Nelson, 81, of Brownfield, were held Tuesday,
April 4, 2006, in the First United Methodist Church with Rev. Don
McWhorter officiating. Burial was in Terry County Memorial Cemetery.
Mr. Nelson died Saturday, April 1, 2006, in Lubbock. He was born
March 9, 1925, in Hillsboro and moved to Brownfield in 1926. He
graduated from Brownfield High School in 1943 and attended Texas A&M
University.
He was a member of the First United Methodist Church and was a World War II
U.S. Army veteran where he received five Bronze Stars and one Bronze Arrowhead
Medal while serving with the Parachute Field Artillery Division in
France. He
was a salesman for J. B. Knight Distributing and also Credit Manager for
Goodpasture, Inc., for several years.
Mr. Nelson is survived by his wife, Bess; two sons: Rev. Jim Nelson of Grand
Saline, and Terry Nelson and his wife, Michele, of Fort Worth; and by three
grandchildren.
