Mr. and Mrs. W. E. Morrison and grand-daughter, Joy Slaton, all of Pecos, were instantly killed Sunday afternoon in an automobile accident near Brownfield.     Mrs. Jimmy Slaton, daughter of Mrs. Morrison, was also injured and is in a Brownfield hospital critically ill.  According to a report received here early Thursday afternoon from a hospital attendant, she has a slight chance to live.

Mr. and Mrs. Morrison, Mrs. Slaton and Joy had been visiting with relatives (Mr & Mrs. Geo Tiernan) in Brownfield and were returning to Pecos when an oil field truck collided with them about 12 miles west of Brownfield.  The driver of the truck was being held early in the week on a charge of murder pending investigation.

The bodies were sent from Brownfield to Holiday where funeral services were conducted Tuesday afternoon.  Jack Grey, A. B. Pointer, H. D Hardy, J. T. Meadows, Truman Meadows and Jack Malone of Pecos attended the services.  Carl Whisenant of Pecos and two other children of Mrs. Morrison's survive.
