James Harold "Ted" Moore, 82, of Brownfield passed away on Thursday, April 15, 2010, at his home. Memorial Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, April 17, 2010, at Immanuel Baptist Church with Rev. Jon Patrick officiating.

Ted was born on March 22, 1928, in Elkhart, Texas to Jim and Gladys Moore. He joined the United States Navy in 1946, serving until 1949. He married Dorthy "Dodie" Fair on October 10, 1975, in Fort Worth. He worked for Berry Cigar and Candy Co. for 25 years before retiring with the United States Postal Service. He was a longtime member of the Masonic Lodge and a member of the Optimist Club.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother and his step-daughter.

Ted is survived by his wife of 35 years, Dodie Moore of Brownfield; two daughters, Sydnee Bertucci and husband Paul of Brownfield and Amy Moore of Dallas; his son, Royce Moore and wife Maxine of Austin; two stepsons, R.L. Smith and wife Renee of Cleburne and Brent Smith and wife Leona of Ft. Worth; his stepdaughter, Jan Rotenberry and husband Michael of Midland; 11 grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.

The family would like to express a special thanks to Interim Hospice Care. Memorial contributions can be made to Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center and Immanuel Baptist Church.
